i don’t usually do things like this but I feel this needs to be said.
when I learned that there would be a unique armour coming out for halo 5 guardians that could only be obtained through completing the MCC campaigns on legendary, I was stoked. I was up for the challenge because I wanted something that not a lot of people would have in the game, a sort of bragging right. This took me a more than a month of grinding the stupidly long missions against a foe where I would be constantly trampling me into the dirt, so when I beat them after hours of playing, I felt like I deserved a unique trophy.
The helioskrill armour is great and I love it, but since this new update came out I felt like those who bothered to put in the time into the MCC should be rewarded with the new variants of the helioskrill at least, but I was wrong. Even worse I feel robbed of my time because now anyone can get the helioskrill. The thing that I was once proud of now feels irrelevant. This is also not helped by the fact that completing halo 5s campaign on legendary (both solo and coop) yielded nothing.
What are you thoughts on the matter?
I shared your thoughts… until I saw that 343 had infact said it wouldn’t always be the only way to get it. They did say that it would someday be available in the req packs.

that’s kinda dumb. considering helioskrill is mythic and the variants are not.

They kinda kicked themselves with that - why put all that work into the legendary main campaign when the reward will be available later to everyone. Just like the req packs you pay for why pay for them if everything you pay for is attainable through the gold req packs for free. But they’ve got new updates coming out hopefully they will make armor that will be like that in the upcoming updates.
Wasn’t unlocking Helioskrill meant for the beta? Either way it was like that for a considerable amount of time and I’m sure 343 would have predicted that it would have taken a a pretty long time for players to unlock everything. It only took me until the end of December to unlock everything.

Early access I think. They said it would be in req packs soon so everyone should’ve known about it.

Yea i thought it was odd i was unlocking the nightfall Armor etc.

I totally agree with you. I also feel kind of ripped off with what 343 is doing with this armor. And now since anybody can have it, How many can say, with pride, that they have the “Overall Completion” badge for actually finishing the campaigns on Legendary?
