The Gravity Hammer has always had that terrifying blade on the back of the head. In all of its appearances though, we’ve only ever seen it in use once, when the Chieftain -Yoinked!- up Romeo’s lungs on top of the NMPD HQ building. In the rest of its appearances, it’s only ever been a decoration on the hammer while the blunt side is used to pummel, even when its battery is depleted.
The Gravity Hammer has been usable by the player in five games at this point, and we still haven’t been able to use the blade ourselves. With the Hammer’s assassination, we trip the enemy then smash them in the lower jaw, which I admit is still pretty cool. However, it would’ve been much more awesome if instead of hitting them with the blunt hammerhead, we smashed them in the chest with the blade, then watched them gasp for a second before dying. In Halo 6, if the Hammer has its own unique assassination, it should feature the blade.
Why not make it where you hit the back of the spartan with the blade behind their neck causing them to fall to their knees(similar to one of the default assassination) then your spartan flips the gravity hammer back to its normal position and slams the spartan like a golf ball sending them flying a few inches.

> Perfect. “ALL TEE’D UP. Fore!”
Good name but something named more (brute-al) ha for the species that handle the weapon.

You’ve got it backwards: adding M-rated content causes the game to get an M-rating, not the other way around.

Technically it works both ways. If they know they are allowed to get an M rating then they might actually try something. If they go for a T one, they’ll have to tone it down, like they did with Halo 5.

343 thought they weren’t allowed to get an M rating for Halo 5? I wonder if that’s true. In any case, it would be neat to see hammer-sassinations, I mean we already have sword-sassinations. Although I don’t think they need to be particularly gory or anything

Im pretty sure they intentionally lowered it to allow the game to reach a wider audiance. Or something. Thats certainly what I’ve heard anyway.
That, or the ESRB finally realized that they’re being too stringent and adjusted the ratings accordingly.
And technically, we DO have a hammer-sassination in Halo 5. Get behind a person with one and you’ll knock them off their feed and slam the hammer into them. It happens to me all the time in Fat Kid and Andy’s Dorm.

I’ve heard the same thing, but I’m not sure if I believe it

Better idea, remove assassinations from Halo, they’re useless and slows down the gameplay. I don’t care in the campaign (would prefer not having them anywhere, anyway), but in the multiplayer, I always, without exception, instinctively do the eye roll when I see one happening (wether to me or to any other players (including the ennemies)). It may be impressive for 6 to 13 years old players, but if you’re older than that, come on…

Its hard to get assasinations these days it feels like, unless you camp and wait for people to pass by…at which moment a teammate will promptly shoot the person your assassinating. Happens all too often.
This alternate Hammer assassination is really cool, and it should behave in the same manner as the Energy Sword’s alternate assassination (where you skewer your victim through the neck); you shove them to the ground, and you puncture their lungs with the backblade until they die from the trauma.

It would be nice to be able to stop an assassination and transition it to a beat down in case you get into a tight spot.
The decap kills sound cool, as does animated agony. It sounds like Mortal Combat though, and Spartans take the path of least resistance and prefer a quick strike to the victim’s most vulnerable parts. This has been true at least until some of the more intricate assassination animations, but I believe they’re more like armor effects like inclement weather and pestilence than something which Spartans would typically be sporting.
In the games, the gravity hammer seems to be more of a ceremonial staff with a devastating gravity effect than it does a traditional melee weapon. They were all built based on the Fist of Rukt, and yet it was significantly larger and heavier than the covenant production models. The Fist of Rukt was not originally constructed to be a gravity hammer, but just a simple war hammer with the gravity warping tech being added much later. So in all fairness I think the hammer is pretty good as is. Its blade sees some use but we’re not over reliant with hitting people with the hammer or blade as the gravity vortexes tear them apart just fine.

I think you can, its a lag thing. Had it happened by accident.
Also, no. Forget it mate, they’re not going anywhere.
