Do you agree that Halsey’s revenge plot should be resolved before Halo 5?
I think it should get resolved in a Spartan Ops Season 2. Now that she is captured, it’s time for John to get involved. He should come aboard the Infinity and take over Commander Palmer’s job. She doesn’t have to leave but he could put her in her place.
Agreed. John needs to come back. I bet he will convince Halsey to stop.
Can’t wait to see John’s reaction.
They interrigated her, imprisoned her, lied to her, tried killing her, and now they took her arm. John will be so…I would say angry or some other variation of the word, but I really don’t think it would be good enough.

He will likely take it like any S-II would take it. But deep down he’d likely be wondering WTF, and I haven’t a clue what an outcome between them two could be. It could go in so many different directions but only have a couple outcomes.
Then what will Halo 5 go on?
Spartan Ops was to bridge the gap between 4 and 5, not be a separate story. It left the Halsey part as something to expand on in Halo 5, using it as another way to expand John’s Humanity after Cortana.
I think they should go on this instead of rushing forward another plot part that looks random because nothing was set up before hand. 343i made the story without a Season 2 in mind so I doubt a season 2 will be directly tied to the story like season 1.
I honestly think it is too important of a plot to get solved that fast. I think people just want it rushed and over with so it won’t be in halo 5 which is rather petty.
I have mixed feelings on this matter. I want to hurry up and know what Catherine’s plan is, plus how John will react. On the other hand though, I would rather wait and see it be some epic game play in Halo 5.
They’re definitely waiting until Halo 5. I don’t see any reason not to, why start and end such an important event in something like Spartan Ops?
> They’re definitely waiting until Halo 5. I don’t see any reason not to, why start and end such an important event in something like Spartan Ops?
Because not every player will play or have access to Spartan Ops. If this carries onto Halo 5, there’s the possibly that it could confuse a lot of players. Basically if you had missed out on Spartan Ops, and you saw Halsey allying with the Covenant remnant without any understood explanation, would you not be baffled? Not everybody reads the books, so they might not know that Halsey is now treat as a war criminal by ONI and the UNSC.
The revenge plot needs to span over 2 seasons. Season 2 should reintroduce Master Chief, but mid-way in the episodes. Crimson should be primary focus as they investigate strange events and deaths of ONI agents in various systems. Around mid-way Master Chief is brought in when they have identified Halsey as the aggressor in addition to Jul, tasking John to eliminate her with Palmer as his backup.
In the third season, he finally confronts Halsey as she is about to kill Osman; then Palmer turns on Chief to kill Halsey as he is trying to calm her down. Palmer declares that she was an ONI agent this whole time. Chief and Palmer fight and Jul and Halsey kill Osman with any other ONI personnel protecting her.
The ending of Season 3 should be in a location near Installation 07 or the Absolute Record, if not the halo orbiting the location of the Absolute Record, perhaps located on the Greater Ark.

I would guess they lied and had season 2 planned all along (unless season 1 totally tanked). I think Spartan Ops season 1 was to bridge the gap to season 2 rather than Halo 5, because I honestly don’t see this whole situation lasting much longer let alone a whole game. The story of this trilogy involves Prometheans, not just Covenant.
I know I’m not some future telling mastermind but I really, really don’t see this happening in Halo 5, only n a second season.

Why though? Why don’t you see it lasting much longer? There is SOOOO MUCH technology left behind by the Forerunners for us to reclaim, most things we have no idea about. What season 1 did was effectively make us leave Requiem to continue the story throughout the galaxy. We have Jul and Halsey with a key, and the Infinity with one. I think there is ample enough story and plot to carry that through an entire game. In one whole season, they told the rest of the story on Requiem. There is so much out there still, more than enough for a game. What has become of the Prometheans? Is the Didact still a major villain? How is Halsey going to play Jul if at all? When John finds out what will he do? Heck, the entire plot of the next game could be John trying to find Halsey and effectively getting the key to work. I am not saying it will, or should, but 343 can go so many different directions and I do not understand why people want it wrapped up. All everyone seems to be asking for is bypass the story you created so we can fight Precursors/Flood. Lets take our time and actually see Humanity being propelled into the next tier while finishing the story of Halsey, Jul and the Didact…
We don’t neccesarily know how much of Halo 5 this would take up.
Its entirely possible that this will only take merely half, where we come to some big battle and reunite the Key. We go after the Absolute Record… and start learning some new dark secrets on the way setting up for Halo 6.
And they can have a prologue explaining some things or introduce it on the way.
You kind of had to have some knowledge of the Forerunner Trilogy and Kilo-5 to get a good grasp of the story in Halo 4 at first, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for them to do this.
I would love to see some CGI of John in battle just destroying the Covenant or whoever’s holding Halsey.
But to answer your question, it would be beneficial to everyone were the plot to wrap itself up for Halo 5 so new players aren’t confused.
Needless to say, Halo 5, and the new Xbox, cannot come soon enough ^.^
I think it would be fine as the initial backdrop for Halo 5, but obviously it would get eclipsed by something bigger. That’s what I’m working on myself as a new script.
I like the death of the Oni agents idea.
It will be exciting for them to meet in person. What if it was like the halo:Legends movie if you guys seen it chief rescues Dr.Halsey from a covey ship with other spartans in a space battle.

Unless they, you know, explain it in the game. Chief doesn’t know about all of this either, he’s going to need an explanation as well.
I want it to be resolved in Season 2. Wouldn’t want it any other way.
