So, last we saw Dr. Halsey and Cdr. Palmer was in Halo 4: Spartan Ops, Ep 9. Palmer essentially shot Halsey’s arm off, and still considers her a traitor in the comics. Halsey clearly states she wants revenge. The two are obviously enemies. How do you think this will unfold in Halo 5: Guardians?
Halsey will gather the 7 power stones and destroy the Earth.
Its so clear I don’t know why no one else sees it!
But…We have seen gameplay of Halsey and Palmer on the bridge of the Infinity. So it will get resolved. Or…Something
I hope Palmer just ends up dying at some point. Such an awful character.

(that’s why we don’t have Spartan Ops in Halo 5 - still better than making them as they were in Halo 4 though)

The way Palmer is depicted in Spartan Ops and with her voice actress I am actually rooting for Halsey…
I am not sure why 343i went to such lengths to make her so grating
Yeah I really hope Palmer gets killed, she’s just a horrible character (she gets better in the comics but still sucks) and I hope Halsey uses a forerunner artifact to just make her go boom.
But judging from 343’s trend of killing of original fleshed out characters and replacing them with teenagers in power armor, I see her getting killed by a power ranger aka. Spartan IV, most likely the worst of all the eggheaded hingehead hater Commander Sara Palmer while playing from Sarah with love in the background.

You do know this is what they’re trying to replace Sgt. Johnson with. However I agree that her character isn’t that engaging because she fails at being interesting by using tired jokes that are actually sort-of insults and doesn’t do anything badass in the game. Nobody could replace the wisecracking, tenacious and inspiring leadership of Johnson imo.
I highly doubt 343i will kill off Palmer. They killed off Cortana. If they kill Palmer then they will have removed all the strong female leads except for Halsey.

My theory is that Palmer has a crush on Halsey. This is why she is such a -Yoink- towards her. This Palmer’s inner conflict probably gets her killed

I actually like Palmer’s character, but I think she was poorly written for the most part in Spartan Ops. “Eggheads” just makes me cringe every time she says it. But I like the core of her character. One of my favorite things she’s done was defying Lasky’s order to not go after Halsey because she didn’t want him to get in trouble for disobeying Serin Osman’s order to execute her. I thought it was an interesting way to show her loyalty to Lasky and the UNSC/ONI.
All in all, I think if she’s written better (has less cheesy, annoying dialogue) in Halo 5, people may start to come around to her. The character has potential, it just needs to be realized.
I’m not sure if people hate her as a character or as a person.

Halsey and Palmer appear to be on working terms in one of the cutscenes being worked on in The Sprint. That works for me. Maybe you’d be so unoriginal as to kill a character who has been steadily improved in recent work like Escalation, but 343 isn’t.
