Halsey: Angel or Demon?

The only reason why the Spartan-II project was made was to fight off the Insurrection. Of course they would instead fight off the Covenant shortly after graduation. If the Covenant never showed up then would the Spartan project be considered “evil?” Or is it just one of those cases where the end justifies the means? Would kidnapping 75 children, cloning them, killing them with augmentations have been worth it to fight off a couple of rebels?

The ways the Spartans were created will always be considered evil. But the accomplishments made by these Spartans, these Legends, will never be forgotten.

-There is my inspirational speech of the day. Funny how it came to me when there is almost 3 hours left of the day.

Man I did this days ago.

But you might as well take my replies in that thread as the response for this one.

Did you just compare this to rape? Like, seriously? Of all the moral issues you could use, you use rape? Nothing good comes from rape.

What is this i don’t even…

So you are using a TELEVISION show and a book that has a lot of controversial stories and lessons to justify RAPE as a comparison to a super-solider program.

I am quoting this just in case you try to edit, but if you don’t get banned then waypoint is extremely flawed.

What the hell? Are you a stupid child? the -Yoink!-’s were torturing them they weren’t doing anything helpful for mankind in the process.

You better be banned for over a month

The -Yoink!- experiments didn’t save anyone’s lives, they were done in DEATH CAMPS.

What I’m trying to ask of you is if you think Halsey is an angel or demon? What if there was no Covenant? Would the Spartan project still be ok? Or is it ok since they saved the universe.

Those experiments did not save any lives AT ALL. It’s nowhere close. What part of DEATH CAMP is hard to comprehend? Halsey’s actions certainly weren’t moral, but comparing her to experiments done by the -Yoink!-’s that had no medical contributions at all is insane.

The only good thing we got out of the Nazis was the Volkswagen Beetle.

You are a perfect example of what this site represents. And the events of the game take place in the orion arm and have no impact on the universe -_-

What we’re debating was already presented in Glasslands.

You just compared something to rape and said good comes out of it, which I would dare you to say to a real victim. You also said the -Yoink!- experiments saved lives, which they didn’t. We are saying your comparisons are complete BS.

The research on -Yoink!- experiments to save freeze victims is still used today. It wasn’t just thrown away. The research proved valuable to the medical world. That doesn’t mean it was right.
Halsey KILLED children for the sake of a war. She even wanted to bring them back from death. But since her little experiment proved to be valuable in saving mankind, does that make the ends justify the means?
