I have a feeling that they are giving up on the game being as big of a hit as they thought it would be… the game even on xbox has suffered from the amount of players playing and for them to invest more money into a dieing game would be dumb. Dont get me wrong i love the game its fun but the player base is just to small for rts consol games to thrive. And the rts players will always choose sc over any other rts. Im glad they are going to finish the dlc that was planned but reading the post from sketch you can see the game might lose the attention it is getting from the devs. Sad only 2 months and the game is practically inactive. I am comparing its activity to games like rocket league where there are constantly thousands of players and mayb hw2 has hundreds…
“Dying”
I can agree with you on this just only one problem most people make a mistake on. Where is the proof this game is dying?? The is no legit proof this game is near dying. Some dude just came on here one day and said it was dead and everyone believed him and joined the bandwagon. People say oh well i’m not finding people yeah well i play overwatch and sometimes cant find people and that game is nowhere near dead. That’s just the servers finding the players, map, mode and everything. So I don’t think there dying until I see number proof. Which haven’t been shown or confirmed.
What makes you think their giving up on it their about to release a second dlc leader and they said that maps and even more leaders and maybe even factions will be added. I can’t speak for the population but they haven’t given up on supporting it yet.

You could also compare StarCraft to CSGO and say it’s dead.
The one patch a month, unbalanced gameplay, glitches and it being an RTS don’t help the population.
We need observer slot so people can cast high level games on youtube and twitch to show people how great this game looks when 2 pros are going at it.
Where did ske7ch say that it was losing attention from the devs? I never saw that.
To respond to your topic I do not think the game is dying. Are people raging unnecessarily? Yes. But trust me I was one of the last players in a dying game before and this isn’t even close to “dying”
Maybe im reading into what sketch said here
“We appreciate the patience and understanding by some of you but I also appreciate the disappointment and frustration from others. It’s a regrettable situation that the team is committed to improving upon for the remaining DLC. Hopefully we’ll have a new update to share soon. thanks”
Remaining dlc. Not future dlc. Or upcoming dlc. From that i feel like there is a limit to the amount of dlc they have left.
Did anyone really buy this because they thought it would be popular? It’s a RTS on console. We all knew beforehand that the player base would be small, just like the first game.

"On March 19, 2009, Microsoft announced that Halo Wars had sold over 1 million copies, making it the best-selling console real-time-strategy game to date. Currently, Halo Wars has sold 1.31 million copies in North America, 0.74 million copies in Europe, and 0.04 million copies in Japan."= SMALL ?

They also said they had 5 or 6 more leaders lined up. The concentration is on colony at the moment. Can’t talk about upcoming dlc leaders until they fix the current one that’s due. I don’t believe it’s dying, still find matches pretty quick some the same people because I’m higher up in the ladder but most days I play with different people. They said world of Warcraft was dying during the mists of pandaria. Look at it now 2 expansions later still a strong player base. The thing is to over look the forums sometimes because a huge majority of players don’t bother coming to waypoint. Unless 343 decides to release player population updates regularly, no one can confirm or deny it’s dying IMO
Just so you guys are clear i enjoy the game and i want it to be Successful but i just feel like when i have to wait 10-15 min to find a game that just came out is a problem.

Agreed, the game appears to be in the death throes.

But what was the retention rate?

What playlist are you in? I never wait more than a minute unless it’s 3 vs. 3, and even then, it’s like 3 mins.

He’s basically saying they don’t want to end up in the same situation for the remaining/upcoming/future DLC. There’s nothing to read into there as far as I can tell.
There’s always going to be a limit to the DLC, just like any game.

For Standard, Public Play there was nearly 50,000,000 games played, so i would say high.

Out of a million copies sold? That’s pretty bad honestly. That’s 50 games played per individual. There was an old thread back in the Halo wars forum showing that less than 25% of players who bought the game ever even got the achievement for reaching the first rank in multiplayer. That’s pretty poor retention rate if they gave up on it in just a few matches.
What proof do you have exactly to show this game is dying? I have been playing for a long while and I have seen not a shred of evidence saying that it is. It’s only two months in what makes you think devs have given up on it?
And OP just edit your original post instead of spamming your own thread.
that just the actual match, 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3, doesn’t include other game types and Scrim
