Halos Weeklys so grinding it hurts my teeth

I just worked on the weekly, for the first time because I liked the skin for the bull dog. Since the beginning of the weekly refresh, I have played every night after work after taking care of my normal duties as a parent. I have a full time job, I have a child. I have been played halo since I bought the launch Xbox back in 2001 and held local tournaments and won the top prize in them. I’m not saying this to toot my horn, but im not bad at Halo. The fact that I had to grind all week after work and my parental duties just to get a skin for one weapon skin is insane. Do the folks in product at 343 think their player base has nothing else to do besides play their game? Here’s a question, does having shareholders by default make you a sadist?

I’m pretty much in the exact same boat as you.
The skin is somewhat cool, and I do want it, I’m finding the grind extremely frustrating. It’s not just that the challenges can be grindy themselves, but that there are hidden factors, glitches with them, network issues and a feeling that the game does everything in its power at times to prevent progressing a specific challenge.

Last week I managed to sync two identical challenges, 20 and 15 kills with the sidekick in Attrition. Something I could work on while playing to win.
Wouldn’t you know, it registered one less than I actually got, so two or three game where I got one kill, didn’t count at all. Setting me back a lot of time.

Yesterday I needed 4 wins in Tactical Slayer. It took 11 matches to get four wins, because the MM system threw in godlike players doing more than half their team’s points, with averages.

Even better, I needed 10 melee kills in Attrition, had an entire game wasted because Hammer kills do not count as melee kills. +5 hammer kills as I got the medal, for killing five or more players with “melee weapons”, and those were the only melee kills, yet the progress bar did not budge.

I now need one more backsmack, it’s doable, and I think it’s 3 wins in Attrition, to get to the Ultimate Challenge ( which one is it? )
And I fear that with my luck, the wins are going to be horrible to get, as the win rate in Tactical Slayer ( a mode I actually can do well in to some extent ), was ~0.3.

Additionally, luck got me a Shock Rifle kill I needed as hit registration all but disappeared once this week for me. Five headshots unregistered. Took three shots to the back of an unshielded enemy to get a kill.

But to answer your question, no, I don’t think they do.
There are a myriad issues on the challenges that inflate their grinding time.
That’s not to say the entire system is extremely problematic on its own, even without all the issues.
