Overall I like Halo 5, but slow recovery times are really frustrating me as well. Once you give a command, the animation seems to last forever and it’s annoying that to have to slow down your reactions to wait for it to finish. Commands such as:
Weapon swap.
Spartan charge.
The aerial attack.
Boost.
Sprint
Dont get me wrong, I understand we don’t want a game full of Spartan moves, if you miss you should be penalised, but often when you connect, your opponents character recovers quicker than you!! Surely connected hits should recover quicker?
Does anyone else find this? I find it incredibly frustrating. Halo feels like a slower game compared to previous games.
I think you answered your own question. It’s set up so if you miss you’re at a disadvantage.
What about the others too? Weapon swap and boost in particular are annoying. I don’t think it would hurt to fix it, as long as the recharge rate on the next boost is ok. Halo seems slower now.

It is and that’s exactly why. Halo used to allow you keep your weapon up at all time unless it was for a purely offensive action (grenades, weapon swap, etc). You could always love and engage. You can no longer use the full capabilities of your movement while engaging an enemy.
There’s really no reason not to let you be able to have your weapon up at all times. That’s just what other games thought 343 to do, so that’s how they do it.
