Up until today I have been searching for something in the Technical Preview. I have been seeing this game as a Modern Halo 3. Something was off about that though and I couldn’t put my finger on it until today. Halo Infinite is a Hardcore Modern Halo 3. I also believe it will be extremely tactical and will play somewhat like CS GO at the competitive levels.
I feel like this Halo might have the perfect balance of casual and pro play. At the casual level you can have a lot of fun with guns like the Needler, and Shotgun. Hell the Commando can be used casually up close yet have a high ceiling far away. Some guns need work however I believe the Ravager can be used casually after some buffing.
Visually I started seeing the game differently. I have been looking at this game as a Halo game first and foremost. After playing awhile it seems like the maps have a far more mature art style. This is referring the map material textures such as walls, floors, and other pieces of the map. It makes it feel like you are in a Military Compound or Training Field. This game has the perfect amount of “dirtiness” to it’s art style.
Halo Infinite has made a giant leap forward and not a small one like we expected. It doesn’t feel like its Halo 3’s first or second iteration if they kept going in that direction. It feels exactly where it should be as if this Halo never left. We have all been trying to make sure this is the Halo we love and by doing that we might miss what it actually is. This feels like real Spartan Warfare when we fight.
Once you get everything working together in the game it feels like an incredible multiplayer experience that feels like Halo.
