Halo's multiplayer replayablity.

In Halo Reach and Halo 4 the skill gap between good and bad players has decreased greatly. This was in an appeal to hook players when they first started playing the game, but this idea led to the incredible decrease in Halo’s population is recent years. For both of those games what happened was an initial population spike but the game’s longevity has been nothing but terrible. The solution to this issue is to make the gap larger. In multiplayer games the promise of armor and a progressive ranking system isn’t enough to make a game display success which is shown in games like Halo 2, Halo 3, Gears 1 2 3, SC2 Wings of Liberty. In these games a player may be terrible to begin with but as time progressed they got better and knew it! This realization of skill increase drew them to continue playing in a individual skill progression system. Going back to H3 is not the solution, nor is getting rid of all the good things from Reach and H4. The solution is to make a competitive foundation to Halo 5 which promotes players to ascend in skill if they stick with the game.

I too would like the competitive scene return in halo Xbox one. I think it would draw a bigger crowd if it was a more competitive game than it would if it was a noob friendly one like halo 4

Millions and Billions of noobs are the fuel that fires the engine, if there are no noobs then almost no one is playing

or in other words “new” players since only the dedicated seem to be left right now
