In my opinion, Halo 5 is no different from other games. It feels too familiar and generic. Halo used to offer experience that you could not get from other games. As I said, the current Halo plays similarly to other games.
Doom offers health/ammo pickups with Demon rune. Titanfall offers Titan and fast paced diverse movement. Battlefield offers both vehicles and infantry combat on 64 player. Overwatch offers distinct heros. What does Halo offer? It offers equal start and weapon pick ups. This is what Halo offers to us.
But, when it comes to movement, it’s just another generic shooter. All the games I mentioned above have their own movement system. Halo used to have its own slow paced simple movement based on Bungie’s focus of Golden Triangle. Halo 5 has thruster, slide, ground pound, spartan charge, smart link, and sprint. It changed the whole gameplay style. The game feels fast just like most shooters on the market. You can ads just like other shooters. You can sprint just like other shooters. When did Halo become game that has generic movement system? This game became stale for me, because way I move in this game is same as other games.
343 could you make Halo at least unique? If it go back to its original route I will be grateful. At very least, while you add new features to Halo, don’t make it generic and copy from other popular games to attract their attention. Make a Halo game for Halo fans.
edit: this thread is mainly about the general movement system that I think Halo 5 is too similar to other shooters on the movement.
> When did Halo become game that has generic movement system?
2010 with reach when it added sprint. Or 2012 when 4 made COD xenophobic warfare.
It’s ok to add new things but give us classic Gamemodes that we can play online. I don’t like the fact I can only play Gamemodes without sprint in custom games only. Halo can change but keep original things in it. I never seen a call of duty remove team Deathmatch yet
Halo 5 is no different than other games? Then why am I playing H5 and not those other games?
Not all brownies are equal, despite using similar ingredients.

Halo 5 is different. You can’t play older games because when a new game comes out they aren’t supported any more. Most people move to halo 5 so they don’t have to experience lag. Last time I checked no other halo was fast gameplay had ground pound or Spartan charge. Idk if we played the same halo but I don’t remember being able to zoom in with every weapon. It changed a lot from past halos. The sandbox is even different. Tbh the sandbox is the only thing I like on halo 5

Because it has “Halo” title. If Call of Duty and Halo were exact same, Halo fans still play Halo and Call of Duty fans still play Call of Duty.

We aren’t even debating the same point…
I was being sarcastic with my first remark.

Negative on that.
I don’t blindly play whatever Halo is out. I have played CoD, Halo, and Battlefield throughout the years. I play whatever is enjoyable to play and if a game isn’t that [enjoyable], then I don’t play it.
Despite having similarities, Halo and Cod play tremendously different.

Like I said being sarcastic doesn’t help. 343 will just ignore this topic completely. They only read topics that are 100% serious and that could impact how halo is played. If you were being sarcastic then why did you even post?

That is not my point. The point is if these games were play exact same, Halo fans will still play game that has Halo skin, Call of Duty fans will play game that has Call of Duty skin, and Battlefield fans will play game that has Battlefield skin, even though these games are identical.
I can’t step a guy’s face into the ground, then grab onto the back of a truck, climb into the cab and punch the driver to death, then drive that same truck to victory in a different game. Nor can I perform a meteor strike onto a group of unsuspecting enemies, steal their railgun, and shove hypersonic death into my enemies’ faceholes in other games. Nor can I blast a superweapon towards me with a well-placed grenade in most other games. Nor can I demolish an unsuspecting foe by shooting the grenade he was about to pick up in another game.

That’s…basically the point he was referring to. Restating it didn’t change anything.

But they are not identical. A Halo skinned as CoD would not play as CoD and any moderate CoD fan would know that they were not in fact playing CoD. Same applies vice versa.

So I put “if” they were the same.
Well looks like they figured that out in 2012 when we had a cod skinned halo

I agree with Rudy though. Halo 5 is very similar to a lot of games. I don’t mind if halo try’s new things but I don’t like when they just add the same thing that other games add. Like Destiny was in the work way before halo 4 was even out. Basically strongholds in h5 are the same thing as control in destiny. They copied a lot from destiny. Such as Fireteams ect…

Halo has a higher TTK then both BF and CoD, not to mention BF’s vehicle warfare in Conquest/Rush… I don’t play CoD… so dunno. BF also has bullet drop which neither CoD or Halo has. It would be more then just making a skin.

So… to recap this thread and the exchanges between you and me.
You state, "Halo 5 is no different from other games"
- I say, “Halo 5 is no different than other games? Then why am I playing H5 and not those other games?..”
You say, "Because it has “Halo” title
- I say, “Negative on that… I play whatever is enjoyable to play and if a game isn’t that [enjoyable], then I don’t play it.”
You say, "That is not my point. The point is if these games were play exact same, Halo fans will still play game that has Halo skin"
…
So, now your narrative has changed. You started off saying Halo is the same, and the only reason people play it is because it has ‘Halo’ in the title. I refute that. Then you switch to the ‘if’…
