halos greatest risk

halos greatest risk is its own community, no matter what 343i does to halo, even if they keep it nearly identicle to previous halos ignoring reach, halos own community will still bicker and argue over it, they will bash it at every corner no matter what is done, the games could be good but all halos community ever wants to do is complain about something, even if there is nothing that is of a real issue they will still find something to complain about.

we have hardly anything information on halo 4 as it stands yet people have already started to bicker, whine and complain about the decisions and direction 343i are taking halo, this isn’t good nore healthy, the only result that i can see come of such an attitude or approach isn’t good for the games future, such complaining right now can reduce the hype of the game, a reduce in hype most likely results in less sales, less sales means it failed to compete on the market, not because of the game itself but because the community put people off from buying the game.

i’ve already hear chatter in game on halo reach, generally stupid rumors and such but the overall thing that comes out is:

guy 1: “instert stupid rumor”
guy 2: really?
guy 1: yes
guy 2: well, guess i won’t be buying halo 4…

then there is me saying that its completely barbaric attitude but gets attacked for it.

i’m glad there is no halo 4 beta, a halo 4 beta could serve as the killing blow to halo from how the community reacts and possible changes made to the game based off of the feedback.

i really hope halos community can be saved before its to late.

hands op gold medal

How is sprint/ loadouts/ thruster pack/ recoil etc identical to the Halo trilogy…?

There will always be complainers, and we’ll have to accept that.

But complaining about things that we barely even know about yet (Halo 4) is stupid.

But, that’s our community. The best thing that we can do is block them out and enjoy the game for ourselves.

I understand the gesture, I really do, but after months of forum roaming, I find that this kind of thread is just as pointless and annoying as the ones flaming on a feature they haven’t seen yet. Lets just ignore it and let it die out on it’s own.

I would say that 99% of people who grandstand and say “I’m not buying Halo 4 because of <insert lame reason>” will end up buying the game. This is the internet after all.

> I would say that 99% of people who grandstand and say “I’m not buying Halo 4 because of <insert lame reason>” will end up buying the game. This is the internet after all.

even if they buy the game, they are going in with a preset opinion of the game being bad thus they’ll think the game is bad and tell other people that it is bad…

its a new halo trilogy…

Got to say I agree with this…

…Though if it’s any consolation, I’d much prefer reading through one of these Threads than another one of those God Awful:

"HAl0Z 4 IS RU1NED! I KNOWZ THIZ CUZ I BE PLAYIN IT N0W"

haha, i don’t visit the halo 4 forum for that reason.

most people who do this kind of topic are complaining about people complaining, i’m not really complaining, i’m warning the community of possible consequences from there own actions.

Yes, but in the post he said ‘even if they keep it identical to the trilogy’ which they blatantly aren’t if they’re adding the mentioned additions.

Yes, absolutely right…and as such.

You still need to cater to such a diverse playerbase.

You won’t do it by trying to force us to feed from a limited selection of playlists.

You will only ever solve this problem with the community… by giving each and every person of that community absolute control over how they get to play the game.

SERVER BROWSERS!

That way, you can play in servers that don’t have sprint.
I can play in servers that do.

We don’t have to fight a vote to get our way.
You just set some filters and go. And if noone is hosting a room w/o sprint. Well, then make one and leave it open to public so people can join it.

IF noone joins your room. Maybe it’s because you’re the only -Yoink- that wants to play w/o sprint.

I believe the “even if they keep it identical” was hypothetical. He’s not saying they ARE, he’s saying EVEN IF they do.

But OP I agree. It annoys me so much when I find those kinds of threads on the forum. But, all we can really do is ignore them and enjoy Halo 4 for ourselves.

uh … i thought your attitude over at b.net was an act, i guess not.

giving the communit complete control will just cause chaos and push people to other games because of the chaos …

<mark>such complaining right now can reduce the hype of the game</mark>
I don’t care what anyone says, im beyond hyped for Halo 4. The second I heard about it at E3 I’ve remained hyped. Im also glad theres no beta, the hype will go on from the moment I stand in line waiting at the midnight release, until im holding the game in my hands, to the moment where I FINALLY put it in my xbox and start playing, Im going to stay hyped for a long time.

So to the community, continue to bash Halo 4 all you want and whine how you won’t buy it for some lame reason, i don’t care, you won’t make Halo 4 any less of an amazing experience so don’t even try.

…negative nancys.

Tell me why? Halo with a general population of 100k or more players cannot handle a server browser style of matchmaking.

Yet a PC game with less than 500 average players can?

And on that PC game, I usually find exactly what I want to play…

As opposed to the system that is the equivalent of a slot machine… to put me in a game with someone.

Especially when the population of said game is large enough to assume that there will be someone hosting something, somewhere out there to your preferences

It just makes sense, that with a larger population, a server browser style of matchmaking would be more beneficial. Because the population supports it.

Whereas Halo has been using a system, that to me… seems to be designed for smaller populations. It tries to gaurantee that people get put into games by forcing them into it. And people are getting fed up with being forced to play stupid -Yoink-. Especially when there are at least 99k other players out there that I could be playing with right now. I shouldn’t have to go all-in just for this small handful.

This is why you have so much bickering on the forum, and everyone tying to put their .02 in as to what Halo 4 should be. We are tired of being forced to play stupid -Yoink- when the size of the population says; I shouldn’t be forced to play anything I don’t want too.

Everything you see going on, is simply due to the way matchmaking has been handling the community. Fix that and you will see Halo enter into a Golden Age.

Yup, that’s why I’ve generally stayed out of the h4 forum…
