Gaming once took a great leap in evolution with the release of Halo CE. Through each subsequent game there has been advancements and growth, but nothing so impacting as the first. What needs to happen next is for Halo to take the great journey into Virtual Reality. 343, you want to do something Legendary? Make Virtuix Omni and Oculus Rift the highest priority of Halo.
I, like many gamers, find the idea of exercise for the sake of exercise to be pointless. My idea of exercise is in doing a task or a project; such as landscaping your yard, riding a bicycle to work, or hiking to the top of a mountain. Even console fitness games lack any purpose beyond exercising. Now with VR motion platform you can be up and moving, running, gunning and not thinking about exercise, because you’re not exercising— you’re playing! Exercise should only be a by product of play. When kids go outside to play do they think, “okay, I need to run this many miles, do these many squats, and that many reps.”? No. They play and have fun and the exercise just happens.
Gaming has removed exercise from play and lower health and fitness in many gamers. Aside from all the beneficial health reasons, full motion VR is Yoinking!- amazing!
