Halo's 20th

If Infinite is supposedly set for a fall/holiday launch, that would include November wouldn’t it? And if it included November, that would be around Combat Evolved’s 2001 release. Think they might be aiming for a 20th anniversary launch?

There have been a few threads about this. I’m thinking it will be the 15th of November or very close to that, Friday 12th or possibly Tuesday 16th. But there are several forum members that have different views and fairly good reasons for other dates.

True, a Monday wouldn’t be the best for a game launch, but i dont doubt it’ll likely be close, probably so they can do something special maybe

I agree. A Monday is a bad day. But, it is the 20th anniversary to the day (if you live in the USA). With the digital age we live in they can drop it onto gamepass anytime. I’m guessing Tuesday 16th with it being available digitally midnight Monday or 00.01 Tuesday. Perhaps Friday 12th with an over the weekend anniversary event / events. There are a few options.

I think the 20th anniversary would be the perfect day to drop the game. They will still have issues with the launch though because of the servers and the problem with load management.

I mean to be fair i cant name a game that didnt have issues at launch, which kinda adds to the idea that they drop it the friday before and throw that all in for the anniversary itself, allows players to familiarize themselves with the game too

Not sure. If this was pre-virus I would have said maybe Tuesday because people are getting back into work but seems most places are working from home so I guess it could release on a monday. With the way things are it might make more sense to release it early to cheer people up instead of waiting a few extra days.

No matter what is revealed I will be excited to see how E3 will fair this year with a full year of prep during the pandemic.

I think they’ll announce the date at E3 and do believe it’ll be a midnight launch for November 16th (Monday night into Tuesday the 16th). I would guess the different editions will be announced sometime around E3 with preorders beginning in July or August (similar to H5-I got the console edition H5 and still have the receipt). Time will tell but if I were to put money on it…that would be my date.

Yep, the more I think about it… they are better releasing the game a bit earlier… and then using the anniversary date to promote it.

Gives them a double hit so to speak.

i hope it comes out on the 15th because I am trying to get to 152 before it drops

A release on the exact date of the 20th anniversary of Halo would be symbolic and I could see them aiming for that just for the sheer importance of that date. I could also see them releasing the game a week before that date just so they can iron out any launch issues in time for whatever celebrations they likely have planned for the 20th anniversary. I just hope we get a release date soon because I can barely wait any longer lol

I think they’d be best off releasing the week before the anniversary (maybe the Thursday before) so that any major server issues can be quickly ironed out and any kind of celebration can go off with as few hitches at possible.

I’m really hoping that they remake Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary for its 10th anniversary.

Yeah my thoughts exactly pretty much, though games in the past have done sorta things where they release early to pre-order holders havent they? They could do an early release sorta deal for the weekend or however long before the anniversary and on the anniversary have the official release, that might give them the time to patch out the bugs too

Yeah games have done that and are doing where if you buy a certain edition of the game you get a few days early access. Back 4 Blood is one of them. I don’t really like that approach though because it feels like a way for publishers to get a few extra dollars out of people who really want to play the game earlier than others. Plus if they technically have two launch dates like that they could potentially set themselves up for two launch day issues, although it would be a bit weird to have early access period for a free to play multiplayer.

It would probably be a good decision to release Halo Infinite at Halo’s 20th anniversary. However, I have no clue about the release date and due to this, I have used November the 1st as a deadline for completing most of the lose ends that I wish to get done before Halo Infinite. This includes reaching SR152 in Halo 5 and unlocking the “Nice Work Dawg!” achievement in MCC.

November 15th or 16th are my guesses

Better be the -Yoinking!- 15th, thats my navy anniversary! It mean so much to me.

That would be the case no matter the date or whether it’s released around the anniversary or not . It seems to be a modern gaming stable at this point .
