Is there any way I can get free helmets or armor for the Halo5 spartan customization?

In Halo 5 you earn REQ points by playing Arena and Warzone, you can then spend those points on REQ packs to unlock armour.

I get the feeling you are maybe playing Halo 5: Forge for PC? In that case it’s a bit harder to do this but not impossible. You can get daily REQ packs for logging into Halo 5 or Halo Waypoint each day and checking your REQ collection. If you open these packs up every day and sell all the items, you can eventually save up enough points to buy some packs and unlock items from the REQ collection. You’re not guaranteed armour though, there’s no way to do that.

Some other ways you can get free REQ packs:

  • 343 sometimes gives out free REQ packs on special occassions - Mixer do giveaways sometimes as part of MixPlay rewards or more recently their new Loot update (Halo 5 loot drop has finished now sadly) - If you get featured in the Community Spoitlight (for sharing your art or Halo creations), you will earn a weapon skin and some items for MCC. The Halo 5 REQ pack will also come with additional REQ items that you can sell for points - If you match up with 343 during a weekly social stream on Mixer, you will earn a weapon skin and some items for MCC. The Halo 5 REQ pack will also come with additional REQ items that you can sell for points - Community sometimes do giveaways on the forums, so be on the lookout for those types of threads

Free armors off the top of my head:

  • Nightfall set: Can be obtained by watching the Halo: Nightfall series within the Halo Channel app - Mark VI Gen 1: Obtained by playing MCC (I think? Not technically free though) - Mark V! Gen 1 Scarred: Obtained by completing the Cairo Station campaign mission in Halo 2 on MCC - Vengeance Assault Rifle Skin: Obtained by doing something within your web browser. I forget what it is. Look it up if you’re interested.
