Halo5 Arena chat,speculations,facts,Recommend

What I’ve noticed about the trailer is that…

Fact. if you look there are two score board showing MVP of each team with all of their stats next to their spartan image

Fact. Also the Spartans start by launching or jumping onto the arena to make things cooler and the maps are most Likely symmetric to make the arena fair to all players

Speculation. And maybe 343i will try and make the ordinance drops more updated and random across the map depending on where every one is on the map so when they drop it changes the map flow like what they originally intended with halo 4 weapon spawns

Me and the community would like to know what you noticed in the trailer and your recommendations and speculations

I like everything you said except the ordnance part. While I enjoyed that feature for “myself” I did not enjoy 6 out of 8 people with power weapons. I’d rather it be like classic games where you picked up weapons. with the right gameplay Halo 5 with weapon pickups and “new armor abilities” it could be the best Halo MP experience ever.

Oh ya I don’t think personal ordinance drops made the game any better it encouraged people try staying alive more and use their personal ordinance selfishly for personal kill/death stats while not helping their team with objective or destroying vehicles harassing their team

But I meant the ones that spawn in the map not personal ones my bad for not making that clear

I cannot say that I like the idea of making on-map ordnance even more random than it is now. On-map weapon should remain stationary and predictable, as it always has been.

Well when you have stationary spawns for weapons you have map control, and once you have map control a good team would be set , but what I think makes a good team is when they can adapt on the spot with good teamwork and communication that once that random set of rockets or sniper spawns its up to the better team to adapt and get to those rockets before the team that doesn’t have map control . If 343i makes the ordinance spawns generated by where all the players are on the map so it can spawn a safe distance away not closer or further for both teams or in the middle of the fight then its up to the better team to adapt and change formation but that’s my opinion . I can be totally wrong to

Hey there,

Respectfully I must disagree, I think adding randomness to a match doesn’t necessarily make for better gameplay as far as skill and adaptation. To start how can the game generate such a perfect position to drop a random rocket in the middle of a match without consequentially benefiting one team or another, seems almost impossible to me. I think the random drop would inevitably end up benefiting one team or the other most often than not, which will destroy the balance.

I see what your saying about adaptation being a skill factor in halo… But adaptation from random weapon drops is excessive and unnecessary. Think about MLG, the pros in Halo 2 had to adapt during every match, not to random weapon drops that can make the game unpredictable and unfair, but to each team they played against. Each team is a different opponent with different playing styles, that in itself requires a team to be adaptable to in game tactics and strategies. If you’ve ever been in a difficult competitive Halo match, you know how adaptable you must be to be successful, one mistake and the other team ends up with rockets and wins the match! I’m just saying, why make this more complicated than it has to be… Adaptation already exist and it’s due to the competitive nature of both teams and how effective their decision making skills are under stressful situations. Random weapon drops are not adaptation, it’s the opportunity for luck and the lack of balance in a match.

Perhaps have the ordnance come out of holes in the floor or panels on the walls for that real future sport feeling. Also, if ordnance comes from the sky, then perhaps it could have a longer lasting trail behind it as an easier visual identifier, as well as traveling slower so that you can see it on its way down easier (not the MAC canon ordnance in H4).

Just something I thought of after reading the OP…

That’s true about players playing different but even if the weapon spawns are stationary I like that idea of them coming out of floor panels sort of like halo 2 on the first mission when the smgs would come out of the walls or a red green flair trail going slow from the ordinance like what haven923 and you are right o G1N o about random power weapon spawns

Ohhh yeah, definitely… Having different ways to make guns accessible to players is great! Having guns come out of the floor or walls would look real future like and cool! I think as long as they are purely aesthetic and the spawns are static, it works perfectly fine to create this spartan environment! They should add all 3, places near walls could have all the ammo/all the less influential weapons and grenades come out of the walls. The more powerful weapons or power ups could then drop to a specific ordnance point and the locations that have roof tops or other covered areas could have a cool animation that brings the weapons out from the ground! This would even make the map more interactive!

I would love that

The worst idea of the decade was 343’s ordnance drops on demand. If they can remove those and keep with the oldschool weapon pickups that respawn in designated time periods, then Halo 5 will truly be an epic experience.
