halo4 Unbalanced?

Is it just me but the more things I learn the more problems I see. Let me first say I love halo, I’ve played all of them so far and read 2 of the books don’t accuse me of not liking halo. Anyways I really want halo 4 to be good but the multiplayer seems unbalanced. There are 2 main things that are really killing my expectations.

1st The progression system. From what I understand their making it be more then cosmetic which makes automatically unbalanced. Letting you unlock a power or whatever because you’ve played X amount of time is stupid because it means that someone who may be better skill wise but hasn’t put in the time as much is at a disadvantage. The second you reward a player with an advantage just because hes played longer your doing it wrong. It’s like if when you go to play Starcraft2 (best example i can think of sorry)and you need to be a certain level to play the other races in multiplayer. Basically halo was always about how good you are not how long you’ve played.

2nd Killsteak things(sorry forgot name but you know what I mean) this so wrong to me. Why would you give someone who is doing well an advantage it makes no sense. Whether it’s a power weapon or over-shields it wrong because it unfair to everyone else. It creates scenarios like “he killed me because hes killed X# other people before”. It should get harder to stay alive as you kill people not easier. If anything give people who are having an off day an advantage.

Basicaly halo 4 is rewarding Time and skill rather then skill alone as it should be. I think what made halo great was that it was like sports, everyone started the same and the only way to win was with skill, halo 4 is looking like it’s going to change that.

  1. 343i will have preset classes so no one is at a disadvantage. Custom classes are more for fine tuning your playstyle and not for having a one up on someone.
  2. PODs are not in all gametypes, just in infinity gametypes. So don’t like them don’t play infinity slayer.
Also PODs only reward you with guns or powerups, this doesn’t guarantee you a kill. You still have to use your skill unlike CoDs killstreaks which do the killing for you.
  1. I know they have presets but for it to be truly fair is to give everyone all the same options. you have an advantage because you get to fine tune your class unlike me who has to use the default.
  2. thank god it’s not in all but even if just a gun it’s give an advantage because it gives the wining team power weapons.

Wait, preset classes have been confirmed? Will they be the ones people have used in the demos (RTX and E3)?

If you have true skill you dont even need power weapons and you can kill power weapon people without any PWs

Agreed, I watched yesterday’s live stream of a 5v5 match between Rooster Teeth and some of the community, watched a Rooster Teeth guy get a POD with a forerunner shotgun, picked it up, tried using it, only to die before he could fire it, that very same weapon got picked up a few times before any one could use it and score a kill with it.

Confirmed. There is preset classes for each kind of map with different loadout so people that just begin can still have some fighting chance with diversity of weaponry and abilities.

Well there is really not much skill involved when it comes to timing and grabbing power weapons and killing everyone is there? I’m happy that 343i is heading in their own direction with this and presenting a choice of customization with starting weapons.

It’s only an advantage if it’s used, the “losing” team can kill the owner of that weapon, and take it from him, and then the “losing” team will have the power weapon.

By that logic what is the point for a PWs, their purpose is to give an advantage. So 2 people one with an Ar and the other with a rocket launcher at even skill launcher will win majority of the time.

Everything looks incredibly balanced to me. Powerups, loadouts, weapons, everything.

Also I all for customizing load-outs what I am against is unlocking them over time. Everyone should have the same access from the start.

Don’t forget that the limited edition comes with a code to unlock specializations and many other things if you want to unlock things before other players.
