Halo4 so far has done everything right except

So far everything 343i has announced and explained seems like it will be balanced.

Weapons: Everything has it’s own range BR is no longer god gun

AA’s: Sprint now has a slowdown feature, which means 343 is working hard to make AAs balanced

Movement: From what we have seen so far looks like we actually can strafe now and jumping is now useful.

Everything 343 has done so far is fine except:

Grenades
Now I’m just taking Reach’s TU as sampling of this; seeing how they worked on it and we really dont know how grenades behave in Halo 4

The grenades in Reach are way too OP. They need to be significantly toned down in Halo 4.
However they cant be the firecrackers like they were in Halo 3

So I ask how can we make grenades useful: not too weak Halo 3 but not too OP like in Reach.

it’s gonna be a given that the plasma grenade will kill in one blow being too close to it. it’s gonna be a given that the frag grenade will deplete shields in one blow being too close to it. it’s hard to say how to make it more fair. they would probably have to shorten the blast radius for both, but keep the givens.

I feel safe with 343 and cannot wait for this game honestly… Ya sure there are a few things that will make people mad but what game doesn’t have that… Nothing is perfect

According to Frankie, in a post, he said that grenades are not nukes.

The thing that made reach grenades overpowered was their blast radius. Halo 3 grenades seemed just as powerful to me, just with less explosive sound effects. Both depletd shields, but only Reach’s grenades showed health damage because of Reaches health system, also making it SEEM more powerful. If they used Reach frag grenades with a smaller blast radius for halo4 i would be happy.Another way they could make them less OP would be to have them have a longer fuse time after impact.(keep in mind im only talking about frag grenades. Plasmas are fine in Reach.)

The grenades were ok in Halo: Reach except the fuse time was too short for the Blast Radius.

Frags might be a bit OP in Reach, but Plasma Grenades are way underpowered in Reach, they don’t go where you want, sticking is nearly impossible. Plasma Grenades should go back to how they were in Halo 3, they were perfect. As for Frags, nerf em’ a bit from Reach, but not much.
