I spend a lot of time coming up with this list. I agree with some people in the forums, personal ordnance could have been implemented better, there is nothing i hate more than getting a power weapon only to be killed by a precision weapon 2 seconds later without even using the weapon, only to have it despawned or used against you. I know this annoyance has happen to many of you people and i feel your pain, but I came with a solution.
Killstreaks and deathstreaks would have helped saved the enormous population it had during launch, while keeping said power weapons as spawns in the map… Don’t get me wrong though, I really liked the Halo 4 War games experienced, but there were certain ‘Halo itches that need to be scratched for me but were not scratched’. So I have compiled a list features that could have had many players hooked for more than 2 years…
Since many players believe 343 got the idea of personal ordinance from Call of Duty’s care package, but Call of Duty wasn’t the first to implement this feature. Of course, many Halo 4 players at launch probably migrated to Black Ops 2 when it was released, so the question is why didn’t 343 implement customizable killstreaks in Halo 4 for every killing spree medal? This makes it fair since personal ordnance is not given to players who keep getting assist, but rather killing and staying alive.
But yeah, who care’s if you are awarded with some power weapons you might call down only to be killed 2 seconds later without even using them and the weapons despawn.
I have compiled a list of custumizable killstreaks that could have made Halo 4’s online experience a little more interesting and probably kept the Call of duty population base. I think everyone agrees Personal Ordnance could have been implemented better.
When players get their first spree medals, they could call in a UAV to see the enemies position as well as a counter UAV. Players getting a unfrigginbelievable medal should be allowed to call in a scarab and unleash it on the enemy team that is being dominated so that it can be an awesome, fun conclusion of a one sided match. Lets face it, sometimes we get bored dominating teams by 450-100 mid game.
Why aren’t there human flying vehicles many have asked? I could understand why the hornet wasn’t used… It wasn’t even in the campaign. But the pelican was. I know some of you are saying it can be a bit overpowered and some maps are too small to incorporate it like Haven, Adrift, and Abandon, but it would work on open maps like Complex and big team battle. Imagine calling in a pelican and being able to fly it around and spartan lasering people with it or having air dominance with it by shooting down banshee’s in Vanhalla? Of course people have a right to be concerned, it would be hard to take down. So that’s why when this killstreak is called, players should be limited to using the pelican for 30 seconds.
So when I say actualy killstreaks, I mean like rewarding players with the target designator which was available in Reach’s firefight and Halo 4’s campaign. One shot of that can take down several players who are grouped together and give your team points. So why wasn’t the target designator used in personal ordinance?
Second, taking a cue from Call of Duty, another kill streak that could have been implemented but wasn’t even used in the game sadly was being able to call in group of General Elites wielding energy swords and have them unleashed in the map to kill enemy spartans. Now think of them as the attack dogs in call of duty, where they can rack up kills for you with one hit from the energy sword.
Then, why wasn’t orbital bombardments called were the player can get a overhead view of the map and control the targeting reticle? This is War games is a training simulation, so this could have been implemented in the game as a effective killstreak award.
Last but not least Halo 4 sorely needs the blue turtle shell. There should be deathstrikes to help many noobs or teams that are losing in big team battle by 800-320 with no hops of atleast narrowing the spread. Many of us believe this will lead to players quitting and when people join the losing team midgame, they too will quit. So deathstrikes should be added to encourage the players of the losing team not all is lost. Mario Kart uses this feature, the game lets players who are really lacking catch up because of the use of the Blue Turtle shell.
Hopefully these features get implemented into Halo 5 in the future so that another population death doesn’t happen again.
Thanks for hearing me out.
