Does anyone think anything Halo 4 (or just halo) related will be announced at the nextbox reveal? Halo 2 anniversary? A game like ODST but for spartan ops? What do you guys think?
I doubt it, but I am hoping for a H2 Anniversary.
This is pretty much a duplicate topic :/, many other topics like this.
Anyway, I suspect a new Halo game but not related to Halo 4.
I’m sure there will be a Halo announcement of some sort. It’s Microsoft’s biggest and most important franchise and every one will be watching, I don’t see why they wouldn’t have something Halo related.
Hopefully Halo 2 HD (not Anniversary) is announced. That would make my day!
a halo 2 anniversary would be awesome to announce for 2014
I doubt it but it would be nice.
Also heads up that a Halo 2 anniversary probably won’t have Halo 2 multiplayer, just like Halo CE anniversary didn’t.

I’d be really disappointed by that. Halo 2 wasn’t a game that was really held back by its graphics. Most of it wanted to do was up there on the screen, and even going through it now there isn’t much to complain about (except for the faces) especially in Halo 2 Vista which checks the box for HD. You can’t even say that we’re hurting for Halo 2 map remakes considering that they supported a lot of Reach’s multiplayer.
No, what I would like (and think is more likely) is SOPS season two but I doubt that’s going to be associated with a Nextbox reveal. Microsoft would loose a lot of momentum going from their new launch line-up to that game from last year that, chances are, you’re not playing right now.
Will there be something relevant to Halo 4 during E3? Probably (SOPS season 2, more maps, updates) but I’ll bet that it won’t be part of the main presentations (a Halo 5 teaser on the other hand…)

I would like either, but graphics I agree never held back halo 2, but seing it in greater detail aswell, can do no harm for anyone
I’d rather have an ODST sequel to a Halo 2 HD or anniversary

Well it may. If Halo 2 anniversary doesn’t sell that’s certainly skin off someone’s back at 343 or Microsoft, and it doesn’t really do the community any good. Furthermore, spending the time and effort updating Halo 2 must come at the cost of other projects (ex. another season of SOPS) as 343 must either put less work into those other things or cut them altogether to make room for this other, expansive project.
And there’s Halo 2 vista. If you want greater detail that’s there to satisfy your needs without calling for 343 to invest in an anniversary project. With that in mind, though, simply porting Halo 2 vista to the XBLA (updated textures and all) wouldn’t be a bad idea. It would still require a bit of work but it’s a more manageable undertaking that could be used to score some serious community points if it included a functional multiplayer mode (and was included with the next-box as one it’s first FTP offerings.)
probably a halo 4 expansion like how odst was.
IMO, I hope they don’t do a Halo 2 Anniversary, because then people will start demanding a Halo 3 anniversary, and then a Reach anniversary, and eventually a Halo 4 anniversary. Pretty much the main reason everyone wants a Halo 2 Anniversary is because they want the multiplayer back, but what will happen is they will polish the graphics and remake the most popular Halo 2 maps for… Halo 4’s multiplayer…
They should spend their time telling new stories instead giving us games we have all played before with just more pixels. Halo CEA was something special, making a Halo 2 remake would be a mistake.

Yay! Someone who shares my beliefs

Faulty logic ftw!! Halo 3 (and its successors) has HD graphics, is on the Xbox 360, and is still playable on Xbox LIVE. Quite a lot of people want Halo 2 Anniversary to play the Campaign with redone graphics and music, actually. Not everyone is obsessed with multiplayer (as bad as Halo 4’s multiplayer is).
Halo: CEA wasn’t “something special”, it was a money grab on Microsoft’s part, just like Halo 2 Anniversary would be. It would hardly be a mistake as it would generate even more profit for Microsoft, complete the original trilogy, fix some of the issues that plagued Halo 2 to begin with, and satisfy Halo 2 fans. It would also take minimal resources to develop.
343i not making Halo 2 Anniversary would disappoint far more people than making it would; and the latter would in such a case be suffering from very negative and selfish “disappointment” since it wouldn’t impact such people in the slightest, considering they could simply make the decision not to purchase.
