Halo4 Music

I listened to the Halo CEA OST Sample and the entire middle of it from 0:42-1:15 sounds like a shark/predator/alien horror movie and doesn’t really fit with the rest of the soundtrack. Everything ells sounded completely Halo and awesome.

Is this a taste of what 343 is going to give the new trilogy?

Thoughts?

Anyone??

I think some thriller/mystery music would be a nice departure and give some variety from the (awesome) halo themes. and since h4 has that sense of discovery not seen since the first game, it would be good to draw inspiration from that.

Honestly I think the only thing I will truly miss from Bungie in Halo is Marty’s music. If only they could get him to do the OST for Halo 4. I like the music in Legends and CE:A but nothing can compare to the amazing soundtracks of Bungie Halo. Here’s to hoping 343 tries hard to replicate Bungie’s music styles for Halo 4

What is going to happen with Halo 4’s music production? Will Sotaro work with Skywalker?

I’m sure we will see a bunch of new scores for Halo 4. Honestly I haven’t been that impressed with the music in the reveal and in the concept art trailer–this is much different than how I’ve felt with previous Halo trailers and videos.

I loved the Halo: CEA OST though, and the music in Halo: Legends was awesome as well. In Halo 4 I think we will see a lot of new takes on old favorites, and I’m optimistic that Marty has given them a great foundation to build on and receive inspiration from.

I think the music in the halo 4 consept art really fitted wat 343 is trying to capture it is not about owning the covies anymore it is about the mystery of the forunners an thats what i thought of when i listened to it mystery.

I think Halo 2 had a nice balance. Beautiful songs for moments of awe, wonder, and mystery, while containing foreboding music with the flood levels. Not saying the Flood should return, but that the music fit the moment in Halo 2 quite nicely, and I think that Halo 4 should be careful with each moment.

I would look at the music of Halo Wars as the best indicator of how the soundtrack will be in future Halo games, and as that had amazing music, I don’t think we have anything to worry about.

Got any Youtube examples of their best songs? I’m a bit curious to hear them.

Why do you say Halo4 will resemble Halo Wars music? I don’t see any reason why that might be the case.

WHAT!?!? O’Donnell’s not coming back for Halo 4?

Where did this information surface?!?!

I absolutely adored the music in the concept art trailer, reminded me a lot of Mass Effect (although I know a lot of you hate Mass Effect right now, but haters gonna hate), yet still had that Halo touch to it. Mysterious, wonderful.

To be honest, as much as I love Marty’s music, his recent works in ODST and Reach had far too many tracks composed of random drum beats and stuff rather than beautiful music. I’m excited to see what kind of music we’ll be getting with Halo 4.

Well Marty works for Bungie… Bungie isn’t doing Halo 4…

And if you say that Halo4Follower told you that Marty is working with 343, he isn’t. Halo4Follower made a mistake, and corrected himself in the next video.

The music needs to resemble that of Halo 2, and be orchestrated like that of Halo 3 (not Aniversary, that music is terrible). The music needs to resemble that of the Halo Trilogy; not Reach or ODST. Some new music is good, but we need some remixes for nostalgia.

Yes! Halo 2’s music was my favorite. It also had some of Halo’s most memorable songs (Banshee Battle anyone?).

No one can replace Marty. NO ONE. It’s Marty’s music that really fleshes out all of the emotion and awesomeness in Halo’s cutscenes and gameplay. No other game composer can compare to the sheer beauty in the music he has created, and that’s not even looking at all of the uptempo, epic songs he has also made.

Halo just won’t feel the same without Marty doing all the magic.

I slightly agree, but 343 can remix/replay a lot of Halo’s classic songs that made it so special.
