In Halo Reach the blood seems really fake. The way it just appears on the ground when your being shot. For Halo4 it should be more realistic, maybe something more like Halo3 where the majority comes out when you die, but for Halo4 there should be way more blood then Halo3. If Halo4 has the system where blood comes out as your being shot then it should look something like gears where it spills and splashes out and maybe if possible stains the armor. But I think the best way would be to go Halo3 style only a lot more blood then Halo3.
I reakon it would be amazing if the blood stained your armour, and if your armour got scratched up (not affecting your health of course)
Do not over do…
I would like it if it stained the armor, and if your armor got scratches that would be AWESOME!
How would there be much blood coming out? I’d imagine most of the damage from the bullets are coming from blunt force trauma (there’s no way a 7.62 bullet is going to penetrate multiple layers of titanium alloys and other bullet-proof materials), which causes little to no outward bleeding, and even if it did, it wouldn’t be able to get outside the armor.
The following is opinion, not fact, and should not be read as, or treated as such.
But from a less technical standpoint, I, personally, don’t want blood flying everywhere. I feel that Halo should retain the arcade-y feel that it has, because we have plenty of other gritty, “realistic” shooters out there. If I want to feel like I’m in a real war, I’d play CoD, or GoW, or BF, or whatever.
i think it would be cool if your armor could get blood stains and battle ware that carried game to game but you could have an option to clean ur armor in the armory if u want a clean look.
More blood, cracked visors, and blood stained armor is fine. But we don’t really want it too bloody where there are ligaments flying all over the place, and body parts and gore flinging everywhere.
when it comes to the flood its fine, but with spartans eehm…
Halo 2 had it right.

I’d love having it that way as a novelty.
I think players should be able to choose how their bodies react when they die. If I can make my deaths rival the goriness of Terran Marine deaths in StarCraft 1, then I will be a happy, amused, and nostalgic man.
Reach is alright.

I’m looking at it as a game, not as it is in the story. If I were to see a Halo movie I would not want to see blood at all for what you said. This is a game, seeing awesome looking blood is great. I also said I think it would be best if it was Halo3 style where little to no blood comes out until your dead, only a bit more blood would come out then what Halo3 had. In custom games this could be apart of settings.
> Reach is alright.
No. Reach has almost no animation. I want to see blood, not a few quarter second blood drops followed by a light speed blood texture appear on the ground.
> Halo 2 had it right.
Sadly I did not play much of Halo2, that was before I was in to Halo.
Could someone pleas explain how the blood in Halo2 was?

Here, watch some gameplay.

Gears of War style? Yuck. No thanks. Everything in Gears is too gory and messy for its own good, even the blood spatter. I think the Gears blood spatter looks stupid, to be honest, but then again I’m not a fan of the series.
I would like to see a little bit more gore in the Halo games though. The books do a spectacular job of describing the effects of a plasma bolt impact on the bare skin of a soldier’s face. Gruesome stuff. I wouldn’t want it to be THAT intense in the game, but a little more gore certainly would be cool. It would give it a much darker feel, which is what I’ve heard a lot of people want with this Halo. More in general and more realistic gore would be a great addition to the franchise, and I think it would be welcomed by most of the community. Let’s see what Master Chief can REALLY do.

Its a hell of a lot better then Reach’s blood. With Halo4’s engine and liquid effects I hope they use the Halo2 blood style. But some parts of the video it looked like there was no blood, maybe that was just because of the 240p but if not then cut that little problem out and it will be perfect.

There’s no blood when you’re shielded. But yea, there are times when they die and there’s no blood spillage next to 'em. I assume it’s a glitch though…

Makes sense if they are shielded. There should always be blood when they die. Unless the guy switched teams(custom games) or left game for some reason.
