Probably my favorite mission of all the games so far. Love the desert setting and the ability to scoot around on the Prowlers.
Ha, the greatest memories I’ll have of this level are of my friend and I getting the Gauss Hog into the last third of the Level after the Scarab encounter. We even got it to appear in the cutscene at the end. It was tough, especially getting it through the small hallways, but we did it. Twice, so we got in on my File Share. Things like this just make Halo awesome.
If only Reach was like this.
The Ark was a great mission but mine would have to be… The Covenant. So many things happen in that level that it astounds me:
Spartan Laser introduced
Fly in Hornet
Fight two Scarabs at the same time.
Go around turning off generators/fight the Flood.
Miranda dies; Truth Dies; Gravemind betrays you… god, so many things. Plus it’s the longest campaign mission in the game, too much Halo isn’t a bad thing ya know?

I agree 100%, it’s my favorite as well. I could go into a whole list of reasons why “The Covenant” my favorite level (shoot, it would be like an Ascendant Justice article for comparison.
)
I do like the remake of the musical theme of “On a Pale Horse” from Halo: CE to “Behold a Pale Horse”. It was done well and fit perfectly. Especially when Forward Unto Dawn came into view. That was awesome, even when all the debris from the destroyed Anti-Air Wraiths flew at you (if you just stood there).
Loved The Ark, that and The Covenant were my favorite missions in Halo 3.
Forward Unto Dawn still goes down as one of my top moments of this generation

I remember just how small it appears at first, and then, !BAM!, out of no where it multiplies in size, and you sit there awe-struck as it swoops in above you.

Me and a couple of friends did that too LOL several moments I actually fused into the walls of them small corridors and afew times getting smacked off the edge by the chieften near the end. XD
I liked how I was finally off of Earth
But to add a large section of gamplay to sixty-six tons of straigh up, H-E-spewing DEE-VINE intervention. Well if artillery is love, than you can call the Ark “Cupid.”
