Myself and a few friends got on Halo3 yesterday on the Xbox360 to play some custom games. When I got on I couldn’t believe my eyes. 61.7k players were online. I cannot begin to explain the joy that was brought into my heart. I just wanted to say thank you guys for continuing to play in my opinion the best game ever created.

I’m not surprised. Some folks don’t like the new styles that Reach, 4 and 5 have. So they stuck with Halo 3.
Also for the fact that MCC isn’t completely fixed yet.
Maybe at least I’ll be able to play some matches in Social Big Team… 
Please, by all means… DO keep playing it on 360 
So people can finally play Halo 1 and 2 on MCC without Halo 3 getting voted literally all the time.
Once it’s eventually backwards compatible the population will get better.
I’ll stuck to it untill the free halo 5 on july.

I can second that. It was in the 60k range. I was finding games like hot cakes. I do think the population changes depending on your NAT at the time, sometimes I have a strict NAT and it only says ab 10k.

Whaaaaaaaaaat??? Omg I wasn’t on to enjoy it noooooooooooooooo!!! The other day the biggest peak I saw was 2307 but nearly 70k!!! Omg why was I not on.

What the hell?!? Last I remember Reach had a peak of 25,000 people a few months ago. I almost don’t believe it, but now I am extremely tempted to check it out. So bizarre to think Halo 3 could have that many people play almost a decade later. I had to check the year of the OP to make sure it wasn’t just a necrobump.
I was on Halo 3 yesterday, and there was only around 300 online. Now I am sad I missed it.
Halo 3 was fun… While it lasted.
I remember the memories of grinding the vidmaster achievements day after day with my amigos. It was a long and bumpy road but change has came upon the Halo universe and I have let it in willingly and with open arms.
Halo 5 has taken my heart like Halo 3 used too.
