So, after some analyzing of the trailer, I noticed some similarities; particularly towards the end of the trailer.
These similarities, being not only the red planet extremely similar to that seen on the Lesser Ark in Halo 3, included the large black and blue formation in the top left at the end of the trailer,right as they show the Halo logo
Eventually, through some continued looking-up of various things in regards to slipspace portals, I found this. If you want to skip the majority of the reading there, it says, “The storm parted the clouds around the portal, in addition to creating a whirlwind of dust and rocks that circled the center of the portal.”
Re-watch the trailer, mainly at the end as the logos show, and notice how the clouds part around a dark blue circular formation, with a light blue outline. Quick link to 1:55 in the trailer.
What I’m trying to show is that wherever the Chief is, based on obvious location and other visual allusions (the planet, the gigantic slipspace portal), it would need to be one of the Halos, or the Lesser Ark. Despite that, we haven’t seen a portal of that scale anywhere else other than Earth, and quite frankly, that one DID connect directly to the Lesser Ark.

None of the teasers have been literal scenes from the game. But they all had numerous features and concepts that appeared in the final game, perhaps slightly altered.
We will see this location, that bird and Chief with a cloak. It won’t be exactly like this, but we’ll see them.
So saying that it is a concept trailer means nothing, all trailers are to show you what might be coming.
343i would be idiotic to throw together a bunch of random things they won’t use for a trailer, it needs to be representative. Not to mention, 343i hasn’t said it was non-canon. They’ve actually discussed canonical reasons for Chief having a cloak, and referenced deserts and machines when discussing their next project.
The community has looked at the trailer (The Ark Theory) and the events/locations displayed fit in almost exactly with where the story is heading. Primarily with Mendicant Bias and the Ark, they’ve been brought up and hinted at numerous times.

FUD was lot bigger in the campaign than it seemed like in the teaser of Halo4.

“Wake up chief”, runs through the ship, ends up flying through the debris of the destroyed FUD while being pulled in by the large forerunner planet. It did happen in game, but within a longer period of time.

Actually, he did fly out of the FUD…through a debris field…of the FUD. “Wake Up Chief” was a trailer that practically showed a race-through of the entire first campaign mission.
And in regards to the “Scanned” trailer, it seems it was meant to be more of a showcase trailer, not showing actual things, but definitely dropping hints. For instance, the Didact was holding Chief at the beginning of the trailer, same as he temporarily holds Chief in the air during the third, and the final campaign missions. The whole augmentation scene was meant as a background to show how Spartans officially became super soldiers. When Chief is on the cliff face, I can easily see a sort of mix between the towers hanging down in Shutdown, but mainly showing the mission Forerunner, as there’s a noted presence of those dark, jagged rock formations, and, of course, Prometheans.
And I know this is a concept trailer, but 343i has shown with their past games concept trailers, there are some things to be gleaned from them.
And something you should know, is that as this is a theory, it is a CONCEPT of what may be, from one person’s perspective. Therefore, with them both being concepts, they sort of go hand-in-hand, no?
Have we all forgotten the little clip of Cathryn Halsey with the Librarian in the Spartan Ops of Halo 4? There is revenge in the air, Master Sergent at the end of halo 4 removes his armor, Cortana is presumed dead after shedding her conflicting AI parts to disable the Enemys device and save Master Sergent from the Didact.
Have you asked yourself “Why did the different AI personalities work as one?”
Did you ask yourself “How smart is Halsey and how much of the star map of the Forerunner technology do “you” think she memorized when the Librarian showed her the significance of the key?”
What if something of Cortana still lives in a Forerunner system? What if she did not even know that that technology could save her when the Didact was defeated?
Did Cortana find out who was the Machine and who was real? Do you think that would stop Master Sergent from seeking her out even if it was only the slightest chance he would/could find her?
What if the AI which is the Librarian “knew” the USNC was going to attempt an assassination on Halsey? This Ai stated she had planned for a long time when the Master Sergent agreed to let her speed up his tolerance to the Didacts cleansing weapon.
There is much to the story that has ended but, many openings that show the chapters are not closed. If you need any help writing the story let me know.
I look foward to the next story and very much miss Halo on Xbox One, I had to buy some other game so it did not sit there and collect dust:) That games day’s are numbered as Destiny will be the only game I will play while waiting for Halo.

Apart from all the grammatical and mis-used terms, your post did have merit. Although I wouldn’t want you writing the halo games… just due to you mis-using the canonical terms for objects, characters and such.

Precisely what I’m trying to get at though. I’m not so much as saying there is a portal then and there in the trailer, but that there is a portal STORM. The clouds are parting in an almost perfectly circular manner, and the sky is obviously darker than it is elsewhere (as you can see by the partially visible splotches around the other side of the screen).
Now, this would indicate a portal of that magnitude, but the only question that would bother me there is; why? Why is there a portal storm going on? And so far as we’ve seen, the storms only occur prior to a portal’s appearance, which means something would be coming through, rather than the portal disappearing.
Another important thing to look at in that image is the reflection on the word Halo. It’s kind of difficult to tell exactly what it is, but it definitely resembles the shape of a Halo - or maybe the very edge of The Ark.

If you look at the top left corner on the logo image, it sort of looks like he is on a ring because
A. The way how the clouds are curved
B. It looks like space and it’s really dark which is strange because it’s daytime.

This might also be the mysterious Installation 07, which has only be described as “lots of clouds, unknown terrain and atmosphere.”

There’s been lots of talk about gamma halo, I can’t take credit for the theory but I doubt it would be another ark since getting there would be rather difficult. Also the introduction of the monitor of gamma halo in halo CE anniversary could be them suggesting that you will eventually meet him, there is also the possibility of Beta halo since it has been said to have no water surfaces
