Halo Xbox One's Burden

A lot of what this guy is saying makes sense. I’d read this Forbes article even if you don’t agree with how halo has done up till now. I’d guess that the expectations for this new Halo must be great.

Their are ALLOT of amazing games coming out in the Xbox One launch Line up, and their not even competitors to Halo 5 yet. Now i’m not saying that Halo 5 is going to fail nore am i saying 343 can’t get the job done. But they’re going to have to pull out all the stops this time.

343 certainly have their hands full.
I’m sure I’ll enjoy SWBF3, and probably Destiny.
In order to take my attention away from those games, they really need to make a great game.

You say burden. I say motivation. 343 can’t afford to fail with this game, so I hope that motivates them to make the best Halo yet.

Actually got early access to play the xbox one and a bunch of games today, lets just say that all worries are gone after playing it, and can’t wait for this device to be released. The impulse triggers are really awesome as well, was playing Forza 5 with them on, and its crazy.

That was an interesting read… There really are a lot of games coming with this new console. I just pre-ordered my Xbox One and got a lot of games (excluding Halo of course seeing as pre-ordering is not possible at this time.)

I think I preordered the following:

  • Forza 5
  • Destiny
  • COD Ghosts
  • Titanfall
  • Watchdogs
  • ACIV

Thats actually more than I originally remembered… Im giving series another chance (Forza and COD) due to the next gen console. Halo has competition nonetheless. I really hope it can live up to its high expectations. I just really want it to innovate more than anything else.

For me none of those games really interested me except AC IV, I’m sort of edged to Dead Rising 3 but apart from that it’s hard to convince me to jump to next gen, Halo 5 or w/e it’s called is the main reason to get an Xbox One, if that fails then I’m not what to do because I really will hate it if it’s anything like Halo 4 since I strongly believe Halo 4 was the worst game I had ever played, somehow it was worse than Halo Reach.

I really do miss the original trilogy but I don’t even think Bungie can get it right anymore because they didn’t seem to care about Reach much, well I really don’t care much for their destiny, 343i are unstable ground while company’s that they hire outside 343i are doing a better job (spartan assault/halo wars are brilliant), it makes me wonder why 343i can’t do something great while smaller company’s can do a better job.

Unless Halo 5 looks amazing as hell I might not get it…and I might just get a PS4.

Halo 5 might be fine if they change or go back to their roots. AA and sprint being baseline kinda killed the buzz for me on Halo 4. They promised Halo 5 will run at 60 FPS and they will be “listening to the fans” on feedback and such, but i really doubt it.

Also with Xbox One focus on cloud computing, dedicated server will most likely be in for Halo 5 as CoD: Ghost, a franchise that never put dedicated servers on console and at one point didn’t even put one for one of their games on PC (think it was MW2 that didn’t get dedicated servers on PC) is now confirmed to have it on XB1.

So hardware wise Halo 5 has the potential to look stunning. It’s up to 343 to make the mechanics work and be fun because shooters are running out of ideas, but that is why i look forward to Titanfall. The game just looks gorgeous and has some new elements added.

I have a feeling that 343 may take Halo 3 pointers for their next game. In terms or Customs games options (or reach), and how matchmaking will be setup.

I believe that 343 are going to increase customization and randomness entirely, but I think they will have another experience for simple barebone players alike. It can’t be one sided like the launch oh halo 4 where everything was casual. now people are saying everything is competitive with ranks matching skilled players everywhere. There needs to be a social and ranked playlist.

People going into Social don’t really care about ranks or stats as much as Ranked playlists, which creates a place to relax and just have fun without worries. Halo 4’s action sack has turned Action Sack into just slayer themed games. Nothing compared to Reach Action or Halo 3. It’s just kill kill kill.

With the correct tools, 343 can turn this around and satisfy the majority of the Halo community (do not confuse this with casual or competitive being majority, this is generally speaking for halo fans). 343 has shown interest and catering to different communities in Halo, such as forge, casual, competitive, and story orientated/firefight-esque fans…
Hopefully, they don’t turn a deaf ear to anyone just satisfy their own visions that may be opposite of many.

I don’t know . Halo is like , Halo , you know ? It’s , it’s Halo …

I’m not sure what you are trying to say or responding to. Can you explain yourself a little better please?

Great article and I have to agree Halo is pretty much the only thing that can guarantee the Xboxone’s success

The only reason I will buy the xbox one it’s because of halo. If Microsoft doesn’t rush halo 5 and gives 343 every tool possible to make halo 5 the best and bring back the 90% that lefts then xbox one will do well.

Halo is the only reason I have an Xbox 360, and the only reason I will get an Xbox One.

The only burden I think this game has is beating Halo 4s story, which will be hard to do, no other Halo game has as good a story as Halo 4
