Ok so in the trailer at E3 2013 we see that Master Chief is in some desert land with a cloak on and is meeting up with some Forerunner thing. Putting aside the setting and environment of the trailer, we know that Chief is trying to conceal his identity Because Frank O’Connorsaid said so in a statement. Switching gears now, in the ending cutscene after the credits of Halo 4 we see that Master Chief gets his armor taken off. As far as the cutscene shows us, he gets his helmet, chest plate, and right forearm piece taken off. It is clear in the Halo Xbox One trailer that there is no chest plate on because there is no significant bulge under his cloak, but I noticed that his right forearm piece was on him, as well as his helmet, and that he had an AI chip in his hand. If you remember in the last mission of Halo 4 Cortana’s AI chip was destroyed. So how did he get some of his armor back? Why and how did he get the AI chip? What does he plan to do with it? Why is he trying to hide himself and from who? I know that since it is just a teaser that some of the stuff might not actually end up having a part in the game. I’m not looking for direct answers, I’m just discussing.

As much as I wanna just rant about how dumb this post is I won’t. You’re obviously new to halo (I hope) so ill explain. First, they didn’t take half of his armor off because that wouldn’t even make sense. And just because they took his armor off at the end of halo 4 that doesn’t mean he was never gonna put it Back on. And the AI chip wasn’t destroyed if you pay any attention to the game at all when you play it you’ll notice when he puts the AI chip in the forerunner computers he slips it in and then pulls it back out (hence why in halo 3 he still had cortana’s AI chip even tho he didn’t have her). And master chief defiantly had all his armor on -__- like who puts half there armor on (nobody). These are things a halo fan with half a brain should know.
Please think before you post I’m mean really who puts only half there armor on. They take there armor on and off all the time, they don’t live in there armor (duh).
Ok, first thing to keep in mind:
What we saw in the ‘Halo Xbox One’ teaser is not an actual reflection of anything that specifically happens in the game - this has been confirmed by Microsoft.
It was more of a showcase of the kind of graphics we could expect from the next-gen Halo, and what sort of scope and tone the next game(s) might have.
Now does this mean we’ll never see a scene like what was shown in the trailer at some point? No. But we still can’t take what we saw in the teaser as concrete evidence of anything either. So really making assumptions about the story based on just that clip is rather pointless. Speculation would be better left until we have an official trailer or more news.

Wow. Why so aggressive? You’re going to scare him off.
I’m not sure if Chief is missing any armor, but what he does have is obviously damaged. A few ditched pieces would be completely understandable.
Cortana’s chip was destroyed. See? fast forward to 28:00. He never pulls the chip out.
In general though, it’s probably not wise to put too much faith into this trailer. It’s just a general announcement that Halo will be on the new Xbox.

Man, I thought I was pretty aggressive, relax.

At least the OP is literate.
You cannot call someone dumb whilst not being able to spell. You are using a computer, for the love of cheese.
Defiantly? Like against orders? Or “Definitely”?
Also, why do you think the OP asked the question? He was looking for an answer; not an attack.
I just highlighted misspelled words, I let the grammar and punctuation slip; I mean, this is the internets after all.
lollolol OMG WTF BBQ TTYL STOOPID DUM HED

No need for that, calm down.
Btw, Spartan IIs did pretty much live in their armour. Their skin was said to be pale due to the lack of natural light as they were in their armour so much. They only took it completely off every now and again.
Thanks to everyone who commented after the first guy. I was just looking for some insight and not direct answers like I said earlier.
Maybe 343 didn’t want to show the community exactly what master chief will look like, they wanted to keep their options open for how his armour looks, and the way to do this was to conceal as much armour as possible in a cloak, just my opinion

I’m well aware of that. My point still stands.

Really? Grammar? That’s what you’re gonna call me out on lol. And no I wasn’t using a computer, I was using my iPod at 1:00am. Autocorrect does that all the time.
Like putting he’ll when I try to put hell.
And for the record if you don’t want a sarcastic answer, don’t ask a stupid question.
And I love how you call me out, then proceed to do the same thing as if it makes you any better.
But I mean this is the Internet after all.

Exactly. And an iPad is a computer. It’s certainly not a typewriter.
I was just sticking up for the guy, there really was no reason to be rude.
The point was, if you are going to call someone dumb in writing, proofread. Whether or not they deserve it.

I said iPod not iPad.
Besides I’m pretty sure he’s trolling so yeah he deserved it. The questions he asked weren’t just about halo.
They were common sense questions.

Dude, I’m sorry if my question is stupid, and lacking of common sense, next time just don’t comment at all.
Don’t let people who feel like they need to prove something get to you, OP. Obviously the only real answer we have for most of those questions is: We don’t know. Who is Chief hiding from? We don’t know. Why is some of his armor missing? We don’t know. That is the point of a teaser, to get us excited and start asking questions. Though rudely stated by another member, Cortana’s chip probably wasn’t destroyed. I’ve taken a look at the cutscenes and in-game events to check this out and I do believe Chief had the chip before the pedestal Cortana was on was destroyed. So why does he have the chip? Could be looking for a way to revive Cortana. Could use it as a way to remember her. Could just be a nice nod to the last game for the audience.
Enjoy the rest of your time here.
You know, after reading that news story that was just posted about the trailer, I don’t really think that the trailer really had anything to do with the events that will transpire in Halo 5. I think it’s only purpose was to wow fans and announce that they’re making a new Halo game with Master Chief.
