Halo Xbox One Soundtrack Hopes

What are your hopes for it? I personally thought Halo 4’s soundtrack was very generic and got boring easily, so I’m hoping for a more unique, emotional feel. None of Halo 4’s music got me as pumped as Covenant Dance or Heretic, Hero. Or have that large scale, epic feeling like Leonidas Returns or Tip of the Spear. We also haven’t got many experimental songs from the soundtrack like Pursuit of Truth, The Long Run, or Drumrun. I also miss the rock-ish songs like Broken Gates, or Air Traffic Control (the song from NMPD HQ). So I’m hoping for a more traditional Halo feeling soundtrack in the next Halo. (I personally thought that Kazuma Jinouchi had a better grasp at what Halo sounded like than Neil Davidge did. Neil made really well done compositions, but they weren’t quite for the Halo games. Hopefully 343 can find a way to get Marty to collaborate with Kazuma.) Also, anyone remember Peril? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUBiRXXwqdI

Monks and a sense of grandeur, wonder, mystery, and adventure would do it for me if we’re on a new installation.

Not sure why Marty would come back, I suppose it’s possible and would hope so.

I do want more work with Kazuma though. His music is more appealing to me than Davidge.

I would like the monks to return.

That’s it.

Less strings would be nice, Halo 4 vol. 1 was pretty string heavy to me. I honestly could care less about the monks though.

I understand not using traditional Halo music for Reach because it was a spin-off and not about the main Halo storyline or characters, but why was there no Halo theme in Halo 4? They should definitely bring it back for Halo 5. And Halo 3’s menu music.

Personally, I loved Halo 4’s soundtrack more than the original trilogies. More leitmotifs, more emotion, more intricate, etc. It makes the originals seem “shallow” in ways.

Finding ways to blend the two would be awesome. 6:10 in 117, when part of One Final Effort/ Greatest Journey/you know the part is used, was incredible. The piano notes at the end of one of the menu tracks was a sweet callback as well.

I also thought that the Halo 4 Soundtrack was awesome.
