So I started this tread for people to put their ideas.
I was thinking, why the Spartans in every halo game can’t slide? My idea is to use the truster pack to slide but you can use your secondary weapon( or the primary but I think most of you will find it OP) the velocity should be slower and the distance should be the same as halo’s 4 truster pack.
What du you think ?
I’m not so sure about sliding - seems like it wouldn’t fit in Halo since its all about precision and aim - People being able to slide on the floor would probably be problematic gameplay wise!
Not to mention Call of Duty Ghosts has sliding now along with the Crysis games!
I could see people abusing this feature. If there is an even balance gameplay wise I think that it may work but from what I see, this might be impossible to incorporate successfully.

Crysis has sliding in Crysis 2 and 3.
Now as for sliding in general, I say, as long as it’s not in MP, I wouldn’t mind it.
But you put it into MP, it becomes a big “WTF, this screws with gameplay, this screws with the core gameplay!”, and it opens a bottle of whine for everyone.
But in Campaign and Co Op games, I wouldn’t mind having movement being a lot more free ranged like in Crysis, Warframe, Mirror edge, and Dying Light.
I’ve always enjoyed games that give players faster movement through the map, and even tho we’re playing as super humans in power armor, I see no reason why we should be limited to running, walking, sprinting, jumping, and crouching. Spartan 4’s armor look like they should allow for more movement of that nature, plus it’d make the game feel a lot more empowering, being able to jump up, and grab a ledge and horl yourself over it, and then slide through a small hole to ambush an enemy patrol.
Don’t you see, I already am one!
To be serious, while incorporating parkour elements would be interesting, it wouldn’t nearly be as impressive as existing slide jumps (which are now a rarity in Halo due to the low jump height).
Honestly, I’ve been pulling off ambushes like that since CE. This in particular was enabled by fast vehicle exit times. CE was also known for powersliding and tailwhipping, which could let you launch out of a vehicle.
Implementing parkour elements would be the easy way out. The least 343i should do is first improve the base player traits (i.e. faster movement speed, higher jump, less wait for shield to start recharging, faster vehicle exit times).
