Halo Xbox One NEEDS a Beta.

One of the many mistakes you made with Halo 4 was that when you released it, there were a lot of problems and not many people liked it (But, I did, I really like this game, but you want everybody to like it). Mainly due to the fact that it had few matchmaking playlists and it wasn’t very balanced to begin with. Sure, you fixed your problems with the weapon tuning update (I love it, by the way and a friend of mine got back into Halo because of it) but the damage had already been done and people lost interest in the game.

Releasing a beta would allow for community feedback, they’d be able to tell 343 what they didn’t like(e.g. Glitches, balancing issues, etc). This information would allow you to fix the problems in the full game, and make it much better. Even if it delays the release date, I’d rather wait longer for a better, complete game than get an unfinished game at an earlier date. This is what killed Halo 4 for many people, so PLEASE don’t make the same mistake for Halo: Xbox One.

I agree. Both Halo 3 and Halo Reach had beta’s weeks before official launch and both had a better and more persistent online community because of it. Halo 4 still offers a great multiplayer but 7 months to update weapons is WAY TO LONG!

Exactly, and by then most people had lost interest. It’s bittersweet because the game is now more fun because it’s balanced but the damage had been done.

Well in my opinion, I think that Halo 4 WAS the beta. But it would be nice to have a beta for halo 5 or whatever you call it.

As much as we like the idea, what are the chances of 343 actually doing a beta? I think they learnt a lot from Halo 4, and are going to do a better job with Halo 5. But that doesn’t mean a beta should be out of the picture entirely.

If this idea gets enough attention, then perhaps 343 might consider it. 343 need all the support they can get if they are to recover from the damage. If they mess this one up, then it will all pretty much be over.

Including things that fans want will earn them more support, and therefore more money. 343 would be very smart to do this. Fans don’t want a rushed game. They want one that’s fully tested fine-tuned.
