Halo Xbox One Loadouts(if it returns)

If loadouts returns it should not be the same way it was in Halo 4. I think support upgrades and tactical packages shouldn’t return because although its stupid to compare Cod to Halo,support upgrades and tactical packages felt like perks and it doesn’t feel right in Halo. Armor Abilities should just become pick ups. Sprint should stay the way it is.

There’s really no point in loadouts if all you can choose is your primary weapon.

Maybe you can choose:

  1. Your Primary from AR, SR, Suppressor, LR, DMR, NR, BR, Carbine, MA5K Carbine
  2. Your Secondary from Magnum, SMG and Plasma Rifle

The SMG and Plasma Rifle are weaker than the AR, SR and the Suppressor and are sort of more of a match to the Magnum, the only way I’d consider putting Plasma Pistol if it is similar to the Halo CE Plasma Pistol

  1. Your AA from Thruster Pack, Hologram, Hardlight Shield, Autosentry, Regen Field

I removed some problematic ones such as Active Camo, Jetpack and Promethean Vision, add in three new ones in their place to choose from

  1. Grenades shouldn’t be a choice, it should be Frag Grenades

You know, I, pretty sure “cod” isn’t the only game that supports loadouts, and I’m pretty sure it’s not the first game to feature loadouts.

Why do people call it a “cod” feature?

It’s most recent and popular game that repeats itself that uses them.

So, you’d rather have no choice at all than having the choice of the thing that you will (ideally) make the most use of? Not being hostile or anything, but having the choice between balanced primary weapons isn’t pointless just because it could be the only thing you decide. If anything, it makes the choice more important.

343 did take out more than they put in to this game so they do need to bring back alot of stuff along with adding some new stuff.

Loadouts are difficult to talk about without mentioning ordinances, so I’ll start with what I think needs to be taken out of loadouts.

-Plasma Pistol
-Boltshot
-Plasma Grenades
-Active Camo

All of these need to be placed either in ordinances and/or properly on maps.

As for ordinances it should be entirely a support feature dropping only support items. All rockets and snipers should be removed and placed on the maps for players to fight for like the good old days.

Back to loadouts there are only 3 weapon classes,(Precision Rifles, Assault Rifles,and Pistols). They should really add a SMG class and possibly bring back duel-wielding but that’s just me.

Pretty much this. If you only plan on giving away the choice of your primary weapon, you might as well just revert to Reach’s preset Loadouts instead. So I would allow three choices, all of them meaningful (yet balanced).

Primary: BR, Carbine, Lightrifle, AR, Storm Rifle, new Forerunner rifle (the Supressor feels too much like a re-skinned AR/SR, maybe we could get something more unique, like the Sentinel beam).

Secondary: Magnum, new Forerunner pistol/weapon (maybe a small 3sk shotgun would work too, but nothing 1sk- either place Boltshots on the map or remove them entirely), SMG, Plasma Rifle

AA: Thruster Pack, Hologram, a short ranged Promethean Vision, Autosentry and an improved Hard Lifht Shield (plenty of variety but nothing overpowered).

Weapons/AAs not on the list would just come through ordnance or be placed on-map.

You really can’t even call it a loadout if all you can choose is the primary weapon. I didn’t say that was a bad thing, it just wouldn’t be a truly customizable loadout system. I don’t see the problem with choosing AAs and perks also, as long as they’re balanced.

True, it should be the same the only difference is that the guns should show how accurate it is, fire rate, damage, make a few more AR

It’s very simple.

Call of Duty is the most popular FPS right now, and is the game that those features are most known for (due to that popularity).
It would seem that 343 was trying to build upon the success of Halo by borrowing from the success of Call of Duty, which is why people call them “CoD” features.

It is an acknowledgement that those features would have been chosen because of their popularity and success in the most popular FPS games of today, with the most popular being Call of Duty.

This, I like.

Only alternative option, well that I can think of anyway, is;

  • Remove AA entirely and put it on the map like equipment

  • Take out perks and plasma pistol in loadouts

  • If, for all the love that is good, mighty, and badass, they bring dual wielding back, add the expected things likes smg/plasma rifle but change the boltshot damage to that of the h3 mauler, essentially making it charge up maulers, and useless to one-hit kill without holding 2

  • Also if anyone has seen the tact nades thread, they have some cool nade ideas, like a flashbang and a smoke grenade. A proper flashbang, not h3 equip would definitely fit the cqc situation and needs to not be brain breaking, just 2 seconds and done, any longer than I foresee the abuse already. As for smoke grenades, use them to rally for your friends, hope the jerkwad in the hornet/falcon comes down and picks you up, bait and switch the enemy, etc etc

I really like using my loadout, and I think that removing it now would be a big mistake as it’s grown on many people and it’s now what they’re used to.

Edit: Also, what’s the big deal with Plasma Pistol in loadout? Aww, I’m sorry, is your big overpowered tank scared because it’s more prone to being jacked than in previous games? Get over it. >.>
