That was actually really cool. Nice!
100% support you all the way. What an excellent video.

It really is. I love the editing.
Nice video.
I would want a forge world with multiple environments kinda like minecraft.
elevators even ones that go underwater and have arenas underwater
a vehicle that has a pad and put objects on it for transport
Death island from halo:ce pc
super fast button while in forge
we need everyday things like a bush or a regular car
More objects i feel they did’nt focus much on halo 4 with forge
Theres so much more
These are some great ideas that 343i ought to pay close attention to! They should also get rid of that annoying background noise in Monitor mode and have a button on the start menu for manual shadow updates… it’s just too annoying when it happens every single time you change from Monitor mode. They should also revert Monitor/player physics to those of Reach; they are much too restrictive feeling in Halo 4, and the bobbing Monitor is a big no-no. I think that your ideas would be great additions to an actual, proper, fully functioning map editor rather than Forge. Thanks for not including an unnecessary apostrophe in “Ideas”.
If forge is not replaced by a full fledged map editor, the speed at which your monitor moves should be editable as well. It gets some what tedious when traveling around forge island.
Thanks for all teh support!
also i found a way to move quickly around forge!
take any large object WHILE HOLDING IT move to the right untill you’re spinning very fast, then delete the object and you will go flying to the right, aim it properly and you move like 75 percent faster then usual!
You know what Forge really needs? To be put on a seperate disc and to run off of the cloud so that it can do all of those things.
(!)
O_O
Ooooooohhh no scratch that. Try this…
Embrace the huge modding community and add them to the huge forging community, Forge in a more powerful form with more functions, more tools, more parts, more pieces, just plain MORE. That’s right, Forge is a second disc but it is not for the Xbox One. It’s a Windows 8 PC disc folks. It comes with your game, but runs on PC to make much better maps that nobody would know wasn’t a real shipped on disc map. After your map is made it is sent to the all powerful CLOUD! and a back up to your PC of course. From there it is quickly scanned by a virus scanner and made available to your Xbox One.
That could get crazy but it still should be a second Xbox One disc and be able to work with a strong durable and ergonomic keyboard that has a thumbstick for a friggin mouse! Which of course Microsoft could make.
I sort of said this like a joke, but seriously, if you want to increase the longevity of the game put Forge on the level of a full blown PC map editor. Give it to the modding/forge community, not to mod but to make maps of real quality on. Hell save some money and just let it be a free download. Then users who don’t even play the game could get it, try it out, make content, and probably even decide to buy the game. Imagine the people at Rooster Teeth making RvB on this version of forge.
BTW great video Skoopa92, if any forge requests get 343’s attention it probably will be that one. Post it on neogaf also to be sure it is seen.
Great ideas in the video.
Great video. I am really hoping for the ability to Forge FireFight maps and play with AI NPC enemies and allies within the Forge. Do you know how many hours I’ve spent messing around with AI NPCs in Gmod? Too many! 343 has alot of work to do!
lol i dont have a Neogaf, lol could you go on there and post my video:D

Sadly, Firefight Forge would be impossible to implement due to the player having to program the AIs to the maps. That would be tedious and annoying, and it would be nearly impossible to create a UI for it.
You know how the auto turrets in Halo 4 will stop shooting you if youre behind an object? that means they know theres an object there, also in smashbros brawl you coud create custom stages, and the computer players navigate around them, it would work like that, 343 just needs to find the right way to do it, plus if you select the path for the AI they will follow that path unless they see a player, then they will attack, its all about having them be able to navigate thru obsticals
OH! i figured it out!
so under “advanced options” for the AI you can set MULTIPLE paths to them, each path has a different trigger like
“Shot-Path"LowHP-Path"Rage-Path"Standby-Path”
you can also set multiple of EACH type of path, so say you have an Elite scouting an area, and he gets shot by a DMR, he wil now use “Shot-Path” so he will go in whatever path you created with the gametype label of “Shot-Path” if you have say 3 “Shot-Paths” he will pick any of those paths, or whicher is closest to him at the time. this way we will decide how our AI move and 343 wont have to make AI that can navigate around.

Everything you said is correct, but there still isn’t a feasible way of implementing a tool to set the AI’s paths.
You could use NAV-meshes, but NAV-Meshing is extremely tedious and time consuming, and doing it with an Xbox Controller… Don’t even get me started with that…
343i could NAV-Mesh each individual Forge Object, but they would only be able to apply the NAV-meshes to the object’s intended feature.
For example, a Ramp-Bridge piece would be NAV-meshed to function as a bridge. But people often use Ramps as braces or decoration, the AI would be trying to walk across the object as if it was a Ramp, which would result in a task-loop.

That could be a potential solution, but it would be extremely difficult to execute the procedure with an Xbox controller.
