Halo Xbox One: Artificial Intelligence

Since 343 has more hardware to work with I don’t see why the can’t improve the AI in the game, especially the marines. Since I don’t usually list everything I’d like to hear what everyone else has to say on how the AI should be in the next Halo.

Although I’m not a developer, I don’t think it was the hardware keeping them from implementing more-advanced AI in the game.

AI aren’t really a concern for me. Looking back at Reach, those AI were simply too intelligent, making it a chore to kill those Elites.

The Reach AI were stupid. All they had going for them was that they were a hivemind(one enemy dies and all know where you are), and the tanks could automatically tell where a player’s location is.

They were cheap, not smart.

More advanced commands in programming require more Memory to play with

Programming an AI to follow a scripted path and take cover when shot at requires less memory than a Pathfinding AI that works with other allied AI’s and makes use of clever tactics and cover.

what Reach were you playing?

they Only good thing from Marines in that game were their badass Armor designs. Their AI was no more advanced than Halo CE Marines, they were poor shooters, had bad tactical sense, and were just plain pathetic sometimes.

Oh hey it’s you again! Well since the next Halo is on Xbox One 343 shouldn’t have any hardware related issues.

I am quite excited about the AI in the next game. I haven’t heard anything about halo’s AI but EA Sports is doing some amazing things with the new hardware for their games. I would add a link to Madden 25, but I’m posting from my phone, anyway you should check it out it’s pretty neat.
