Apparently, according to Late Night Gaming who talked to developers in 343 Industries, they were preparing to end Master Chief’s role in Halo games since his voice actor, Steve Downes was getting old and nearing retirement. As a result, new characters in the form of Fireteam Majestic and Osiris were created as kind of a prototype for John’s replacement, and you’d know that the Halo fanbase mostly hates the Spartan IV’s compared to MC and the Spartan II’s. Osiris had potential of being great additions to the Halo universe, but they fell flat on their face from their showing in Halo 5. You might think that a good Halo would be impossible without Master Chief.
However, there are many characters in the Halo universe, mostly in the books, but also in the spin-off games: Reach, ODST and Halo Wars 1. There were many characters who were the protagonists in their own stories, and they were well written, developed and most importantly have that ‘Halo feel’ that the Spartan IV’s lacked. They can still make a good Halo campaign without Master Chief because there are already great Halo stories without Master Chief, from the remaining Spartan II’s with their stoic demeanor and no-nonsense attitude during missions, an actually fleshed out Blue Team (not the extras that were in H5) including the Spartan III’s, the Sangheilli (Thel Vadam, the Shipmaster, Usze the badass Elite from Hunters in the Dark). Anything but Fireteam Majestic and Osiris.
I wouldn’t mind reach style where your character was practically silent and had the same armor as your multiplayer spartan.

Dude just stop talking about lng eveybody in the forums including me want to see actual evidence than just his word why would a former 343 industries risk being sued and ruining his chances at getting work again in the gaming industry just for a small youtuber to “leak” all the information.

Late Night Gaming told me they are giving Master Chief a -Yoink!- change and removing all of the enemies for H6. It’s going to be a dress up game.

You too? I was hoping I heard wrong… Damn.
I am going to take this with a massive grain of salt. Steve Downes loves voicing Chief. He can still do it for years to come. James Earl Jones is still voicing Darth Vader in Rebels and Rogue One and he is 85. Chief will be around for years to come.
