Hello. I’ve been notified outside Waypoint forums that Microsoft has identified the sync issue on Windows Phone and apparently are discussing whether to fix it or not. This Microsoft thread is what I received and if it gets enough feedback gamers say Microsoft will fix it.
Click on “I have the same question” and leave a reply that you’re interested in a fix. I really want Halo on Windows Phone to work for my cheevo hunting! Thank you.
If you plan to buy a phone make sure it has Windows 10 and in Settings > System > About, it says either Version: 1607, 1703 or 1709. Windows phone devices with “Version: 1511” are likely to not work with Halo Spartan Assault/Halo Spartan Strike. Some Windows 8 phones can be updated to Windows 10 just Google to find if yours can!
I own a Microsoft Lumia 550 which is a Windows 10 device and it came with version: 1709. It is perfect for achievement hunting. It has a 4.7" screen size not one of the bigger screens out there but for me it’s good and gets the job done. Halo games on Windows Phones may crash on my Lumia 550 it wasn’t as bad as it sounds just try again and your in-game currency gets refunded after each crash if you spent any!
Important I think it would be best to contact the seller of your Windows Phone and ask if it’s possible to check which version your phone will come with. I heard two owners of the Lumia 950 came with different versions… 1 came with version: 1709 and the other version: 1511. 1511 was not able to download the halo games and could NOT be updated to a newer “Version:” even when connected to a PC looking to update the phone.
If someone knows if it’s possible to update Windows Phone with Version: 1511 to a newer please leave a message.
Requirements to play Halo on WP, Windows 10. Phone version 1607, 1703, 1709 any one of these will work. Don’t forget to do all the phone updates Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Check for updates. “Your device is up to date.” means it’s fully updated. I had to do almost a dozen updates! A PC is not required to do normal phone updates but if you’re phone is Windows 8 and can update to Windows 10 a PC is then required. You can successfully install the Halo games after all this as long the the store is still open and not closed down by Microsoft for good which there’s currently no news about.

That’s awesome! Good job, a lot of my Halo achievement hunting buddies got upset when I got the WP version 100% and they couldn’t due to the sync error - so this is some fantastic news!

Try to find someone that already has it on their phone and is willing to sell it.
Also, I think some of those achievements were permanently glitched, fyi.

5/25 of the Spartan Assault iOS achievements are permanently unlockable. We’ve been hoping for a fix forever but the chances have been nil since Vanguard went defunct. Heartbreaking but its only 40g fortunately.
