This is my opinion after playing The halo 5 beta & seeing what Microsoft is doing to the franchise with Halo online.Halo will be milked until their is nothing left. Bungie knew this that’s why they got the hell out.This franchise will continue to copy other games in order to stay relevant anymore .Even that campaign it’s going to be like metal gear solid when you played as Raiden.Only difference is you play as Locke.
- The Halo 5 beta? I enjoyed what I played and can’t wait to see the full package has to offer. - Halo Online? Sucks that it is the first real Halo PC in years, but as a means to break into the Russian PC gaming market it seems perfectly logical. And with a lot of interest generated by it, I can see it coming aboard. And really, I wouldn’t mind a more experimental Halo title that does not have to influence the main games. - Bungie knew when to get out? Kinda odd given they wanted to go with Halo 4 themselves before doing Reach and really only dropping Halo not for any altruistic reasons to respect the franchise, but because they wanted to do something new. I’m not keen on every multiplayer decision 343 has done, but they satisfy me with the story side of things more than Bungie’s efforts. - You say the campaign is going to be like Metal Gear Solid’s, but you don’t actually know that. But anything to stir up trouble I suppose.

“There are two sides to every story”. Whelp, I’d imagine that the two sides would play very equal roles in terms of length. It’s going to be like Halo 2, where the campaign is practically in equal halves.
BTW, Halo Combat Evolved *IS the highest rated fps game. It has a 97 on metacritic. The almighty Halflife 1 has a 96, I believe.

The title is “Halo will never be the best fps game” You didn’t specifically say Halo 5. Besides with Halo 5’s 3 year development time, Steve Down good ol fashioned voice acting, new characters, great music and more, Halo 5 is the fps of 2015 for sure.

Well, Halo 4 did get game of the year from Machinima, Game Informer (basically the most popular gaming magazine), runner up Game of the year at IGN and got plenty of other awards from other sites. Halo 5 seems like a huge step above Halo 4, and with Bonnie Ross saying that it will be massive and have large worlds, Halo 5 has a huge shot at getting some shiny new awards.

Yeah…no. For starters you said that Halo is never going to be the best FPS game, implying that it has never been the best FPS game. Sure, this is in the Halo 5 Guardians thread, so I know what you mean, but come on.
Then you’re saying that it won’t be the best FPS game. Well, you haven’t defined what you consider to be the best. Best in terms of sales? Best in terms of multiplayer population? Best in terms of being critcially acclaimed and winning multiple Game of the Year Awards? Best in terms of longevity? Best in terms of public awareness of the title? Best in terms of story? Best in terms of what?
Your OP kind of meanders around this point. I think you might be saying that there are too many entries in the Halo series now, and the Halo series should have ended at Halo 3. I think you’re saying that Halo never ripped off gameplay mechanics from other games in previous titles. I think you’re saying that the Master Chief has been the sole protagonist of the entire Halo series up to this point. I think you’re trying to say that Bungie made a completely unique game with Destiny.
None of that makes any sense to me. I can completely respect that you don’t like Halo 5’s gameplay compared to the prior Halo games, but you’re going to have to come up with some significantly more compelling evidence to support your opinion. You are stating with certainty that Halo will never be the best FPS title. I’d seriously consider editing that statement, if I were in your shoes right now. Just trying to be helpful–you can take it or leave it, ok? No hard feelings.
I know you’re foolish because your referring to halo being like mgs2 as if it’s a bad thing. Don’t be a fanboy towards one character and you won’t get upset when they aren’t the center of attention for once. People like you must be unable to enjoy the walking dead with how much you attach yourself to one character and throw a pissy fit when anything bad happens to them.
