Ideally, you’d consult the source material. Even Halopedia makes assumptions and presents them as fact, though, many people do still consider it more reliable than the wikia.
Halo Nation is good, but Halopedia is still the more reliable wiki.
Halo Nation doesn’t nearly have enough members to stay up-to-date, unfortunately. Either way, I spend most of my time on it, trying.
Halopedia was founded by halo.wikia.com’s old guard who were upset with wikia making changes to everything while consulting no one. There were few who stayed behind, mostly those who weren’t really a part of that community, leaving the inexperienced to maintain it while Halopedia went on to bask in the glorious light of the true believers who knew what the heck they were doing. Long live the old guard!
I wish halo.wikia would shut down… Because there isn’t much point in having it around when pedia, the better one is around, and it takes more attention on search enginees I think.
Halopedia is the best source for halo material other than the actual established halo media. If you are confused about something or want technical details about an object, person, or event, then halopedia is where you go to get it. Now, if you want pictures, use both, as Halo wiki has some really cool pictures on things that halopedia does not, and vise versa.
Halopedia. Unlike Halo.wikia, it has been offically recognized by the developers of Halo as a source of all things Halo.
Well let’s see, last I checked, some of the Halo Archive members are mods for Halopedia.
The last time I was on Halo.wikia, which was years ago, it was prone to things like unsourced information, outdated material, and outright vandalism.

^ This Halo.wikia is rife with misinformation and last time I was there a few pages that should have had tons of information were fragments or incomplete. Halopedia has it’s fair share of issues, but it’s updated frequently and has a plethora of good info with sources cited.
Halopedia has more accurate articles. Plus has cool materials(some even I put up)that are part of canon that you cant find in many other places now. Also many of the big lore fans you might recognise update it now and then
But there is sometimes articles that shine through on Halo.wikia. Making that place more a coin flip. With one side being amazing. And the other horrible or not good. That said the Armor pages have the best image librarys for armors right now. That will change though.
Halopedia by far, though halo Nation has some extra images. I edit Covenant articles there. Also Halo Nation has not been updated in years.
BTW does anyone know the traffic numbers for each site? I would hate for there to be a division between the community (or just curios Internet surfers) in general. We should have one and one site only to focus on.
P.S. I’ve seen some of the content I contributed to Halopedia be copied over to Halo.wikia word for word. Even image files too. I’m not saying everyone there does it but it’s clear they have a deficiency in content and Halopedia doesn’t.

Yes, that’s right. And they are some of the most knowledgable Halo fans on the lore.
Halopedia I find preferable over Halo wikia. The background makes the text easier to read, I find the articles usually more reliable and better written to be both informative and accessible. There have been some mistakes, however.
That’s pretty much it. The quality of content and the design of the website is top-notch.

Searching for any Halo topic directly, such as John-117 or Cortana, will provide halo.wikia.com as the first results. Mainly being the Wikia network is a large enterprise able to put their results ahead of other sites on search engines. Halopedia, being an independently-run wiki, does not have that capability unless you add “Halopedia” before and after your specific topic. It’s a bummer but the best thing they do is rely on word of mouth and the quality of their content from people within the community.
Addressing the conjecture on Halopedia, as many have noticed, being a wiki free for anyone to edit will of course run into its fair share of content that isn’t cited nor has any basis within canon. Fortunately Halopedia has a great staff and many dedicated contributors who pick up on this right away. Most conjecture you’ll find on the site is based within a need to address things in canon with accurate research on the topic. It might not be provided explicitly or hinted at within canon so that’s why it’s generally labelled as conjecture for readers to take notice.
Thanks for all the answers everybody, thanks to what you guys said, ill be sure to move to halopedia

I started going to Halopedia because of the fact they bought their own domain, instead of making it off of Wikia. The only thing is, if you google “Halo wiki”, Halo Nation usually appears because of the money Wikia spends to get high results on Google.
