I’m curious if we have any information on if Halo Waypoint will remain intact when Halo Infinite launches? I know there is a new 343 website that teases Infinite and gives a demo/description of the Slipspace Engine. It got me wondering if there would be a new website/forum experience overall. I personally wish we didn’t have multiple sources online, the Halo channel (dead), waypoint remained (no app available
) and now the 343i website. I wish it was all on www.halo.com - the fact that they haven’t purchased that domain name is beyond me.
I think this website will remain and receive updates. The halo chanel was a failure… i hope wayloint isnt ditched for some new hip wedsite/interface.

It would be nice to combine them, keep it intact and just rename the URL while making it available in app form.

Oh yeah! That’s what I mean! I like my badges! I want it to remain intact but just migrate to a new URL that has all of halo services combined (including an app).

Thank you! I got it for writing and illustrating this comic!
343industries.com is their corporate website. It is probably very intentionally separated from Halo Waypoint, which is the community site, and will likely never contain anything relevant to Halo players unless they are seeking for a job in the industry. In practice, there is only one official Halo website that you need to care about and that’s Halo Waypoint. I don’t see why they would rebrand. Of course, Waypoint itself will probably get a redesign at some point. After all, it got one prior to release of Halo 4, and another prior to release of Halo 5.
I like this website but I want to see more updates and emblems

I totally understand the corporate website! That’s great. In reality, I just never understood why Halo Channel and Halo Waypoint never found a way to either work well together or just merge. I liked the idea of the app with continuous updates and original content being in the same place as the community forums and communication.

I don’t have an answer, because I never really knew what Halo Channel was. The truth is, I don’t really have need for anything that wouldn’t be a direct upgrade of existing Waypoint features, and my top priority is having functional, traditional forums, which isn’t a very high bar. The biggest particular thing I’d want would be service record that’d finally at least reach feature parity with the old Bungie.net service records. I find it bizarre how barebones the feature that would probably get the most use is.

You are spot on there. The service record has never reached Bungie levels sadly.
From the most recent Community update.
> As we prepare for the launch of Halo Infinite in 2020, we’ve decided to give this site a fresh coat of paint. Our current plan for Waypoint is to make sure this overhaul, which will actually be much more than a fresh coat of paint, truly improves every aspect of the current site. We did want to provide a heads up that there may be features of the existing site that don’t transition over to the new one. That means if there are any forum posts, stats pages, or Community Updates (
) that you wouldn’t want to get lost to the ether, we’d encourage you to start thinking about saving them for your own records just in case.
I would be eager to hear your guys’ recommendations for archiving the Community Updates/forum posts.
HBO have a great archive of the old Halo Bulletins that were posted before the Community Update took over. A similar archive for Community Updates would be great.
