Recruit Ranks
Recruit - Iron: This rank requires you to simply sign in to the Halo Waypoint forums.
Recruit - Bronze: This rank requires you to make 101 posts.
Recruit - Silver: This rank requires you to make 201 posts.
Recruit - Gold: This rank requires you to make 301 posts.
Recruit - Onyx: This rank requires you to make 401 posts.
Marine Ranks
Marine - Iron: This rank requires you to make 501 posts.
Marine - Bronze: This rank requires you to make 751 posts.
Marine - Silver: This rank requires you to make 1,001 posts.
Marine - Gold: This rank requires you to make 1,251 posts.
Marine - Onyx: This rank requires you to make 1,501 posts.
ODST Ranks
ODST - Iron: This rank requires you to make 2,001 posts.
ODST - Bronze: This rank requires you to make 2,751 posts.
ODST - Silver: This rank requires you to make 3,501 posts.
ODST - Gold: This rank requires you to make 4,251 posts.
ODST - Onyx: This rank requires you to make 5,001 posts.
Spartan Ranks
Spartan - Iron: This rank requires you to make 6,001 posts.
Spartan - Bronze: This rank requires you to make 7,001 posts.
Spartan - Silver: This rank requires you to make 8,001 posts.
Spartan - Gold: This rank requires you to make 9,001 posts.
Spartan - Onyx: This rank requires you to make 11,117 posts.
Special Ranks
Administration: This rank requires you to be part of the forum administration team.
Monitor: This rank requires you to be chosen to be Community Moderators. These people are responsible for forum moderation, notably enforcing the forum rules. They handle bans, edits, merges, moves, deletions, and policing the forums. You should contact these members over Community Leaders.
Community Leader: This rank requires you to be chosen to be Community Moderators. This rank is given to Monitors who are not as active as they used to be. They do not have the same moderation tools that a Monitor or Superintendent are given.
Superintendent: This rank requires you to be chosen to be Community Moderators. These special users are responsible for ‘keeping it clean’, this includes organizational work - merging, moving, and locking topics.
Community Engineer: This rank requires you to be chosen to be a Community Helper. These users assist in the Support section and answer and lock topics when required.
Master of Unicorns: This rank is an error on the back end when Waypoint introduced the ranking system. More information on this rank can be found below.
Doisac Representative: wat
Discharged: This rank requires you to be PERMANENTLY banned from the Halo Waypoint forums.
Forum Roles
Registered: This role requires you to sign into the Halo Waypoint forums.
Administrators: Administrator privileges for the Administration Role.
Moderators: Moderator permissions for Superintendents, Monitors and Dormant Monitors.
Community Cartographers: Community members who are tasked with finding maps for Matchmaking.
Silent: N/A
Rank Unlocks
Forum Signature - This unlock requires you to reach Spartan - Iron, or be a part of the moderation team.
150 Inbox Spaces - This unlock requires you to reach Spartan - Iron.
250 Inbox Spaces - This unlock requires you to reach Spartan - Onyx.
Master of Unicorns Rank Notice
Back when forum ranks were first introduced, there were only two ranks available to regular users which were Member & Advanced Member. Advanced Member required 50 posts. Eventually everyone who was an Advanced Member were reduced to a Member. When the Recruit - Iron to Spartan - Onyx ranks were introduced, not everyone was instantly transferred over to the new rankings, resulting in certain users being stuck with the Member rank.
After a period of time, the Member rank was renamed to I R Stuck as a small joke at the rank issue, and then later on it was renamed to Master of Unicorns and has remained like this since. It should be noted that having Master of Unicorns gives you nothing special other than bragging rights for being an older member.
If you wish to be transferred to the normal ranks, send a private message to B is for Bravo or TashiGAF. Please note also that ranks offer nothing until Spartan - Iron which requires 6,001 posts, so please don’t let the Unicorns die off and keep your rank for as long as possible!
It seems like the web team have officially created a website page for the Halo Waypoint Forum Ranks. It has been a fun ride trying to figure out what was needed for each ranks since 2011.
