I think we should have a Halo Waypoint app on the app store because I’ve used the one on WP7 and it’s great but having it on one phone system is a silly idea. What do you guys think?

Hmm, in a perfect world. Microsoft owns Waypoint and Windows Phone so I doubt we will see it happen at least not for awhile.

This.

Yes, but there is also Microsoft Office, MSN, Photosynth on iOS.
I for one would love a waypoint app

WP7 doesn’t have MSN or Photoshynth. The photosynth part missing annoys me but that should be fixed when the Mango update comes in.
As for Waypoint on iOS. Sure, why not. Although I would prefer it to remain exclusive on the WP7, since it uses the XBL integration the WP7 comes with. An iOS version could end up being a dumbed-down version, but that’s a risk I’m willing for you to take.
I completely agree. I think keeping Halo waypoint a WP7 exclusive is a strange marketing tactic (if it is one at all to begin with).
A odd contradiction is that Bungie is basically as of now only supporting iOS (other platforms will come in the future), therefore there are many Halo fans who will get the short-end of the stick in terms of mobile Halo goodness when the Halo IP transfers over to 343i.
I don’t care what they put it on, but if a Tracfone version ever comes out I’ll be very happy.
But that will never happen.

Not really, considering there are apps for ios that let you sign in and do all sort of cool stuff like send msg ect ect all they would need to do is make a sign in screen and thats it.
So in the Announcements forum I saw that there was an official Halo Waypoint app for Windows Phone 7.
Since literally no one I know has a WP7 phone I was wondering if there will be official iPhone and Android apps as well. If not, I would be happy to make these, if that’s okay with 343. If there’s some sort of API that 343 wants to give me so I can create this more easily, that would be appreciated.
Can any of the admins / developers give an official statement on this? Also, I’d like to know from the members here if an app for iOS and Android would be appreciated?
If Waypoint doesn’t make an app I’d at least hope they make a mobile friendly version of the site, or even both. Last month I was on vacation for a couple weeks and most of my online time was on my phone. It was impossible to check the forums through it so I really hope for a future mobile friendly site and forum.
I could make an app for both Android and iOS, that’s what I’m trying to say. So if 343 won’t do it, I could.
OH GOD YES!
An official Waypoint app for Android would be a god-send…
Hi All,
Thought I would get the ball rolling,
We need a Waypoint APP for the iphone, surely this couldn’t be that hard to do?
So can we please get one?
Agree with OP
I mean who really has a windows 7 phone anyway, support iOS devices and the android market with a Halo:WayPoint Application, what the application should include is as follows.
- Keep up with current news
- Check your Halo:Reach,Halo Wars, Halo 4 Stat’s
- Forums in mob format (even it just hotlinks to the forum boards but designed for mob format)
i love bungies web app but since they are not doing halo 4 and so on… yea we need one
I can build the iOS and Android apps if 343 approves?
I would love an iOS app. I waited for Windows Phone on Verizon… and waited, but surely enough it took too long to come. The day after I bought the iPhone for a phone, sure enough they announce that the Windows Phone will be released very soon…
Made me angry and I am stuck with Apple for 2 years pretty much and no phone that goes “bleep bloop”. =(
I would love the app on iOS just because I can’t get a WP7…
Are you guys going to make a smart phone app for Halo Waypoint?
As of now, lucky users with a ‘Windows Phone 7’ have access to Halo Waypoint from their phones.
Unfortunately, there is no news right now of any release on other platforms such as Android or iOS.
However, maybe closer to the release of the updated Waypoint this fall, we may get some hints.
There is one for the WP7 right now.
