Halo Waypoint Displaying Incorrect Armor

I am currently experiencing a bug involving my spartan armor displaying on Waypoint. Whenever I attempt to look at my spartan’s armor while on the site or the app, it always displays the incorrect armor configuration.

More specifically, whenever I hover over the ‘career’ tab at the top of the page, the area to the left displays a spartan with the default recruit armor and red coloring. This also occurs when I look at my Halo 4 service record through the Waypoint website or the web app. This is strange as my spartan has the MJOLNIR Mark-VI armor with black primary and white secondary colors. Another point to add is that all of my other stats appear correctly including my emblem, CSR, Rank, etc.

I am using google chrome which is, to my knowledge, the most updated version, if that helps at all.

Make sure you’re connected to Xbox Live and load Halo 4. Open the Start menu, make one change to your armor, and then exit out of the start menu. You should see a “saving” screen appear for a few seconds. Now open the Start menu again, put your armor back the way you want it, and then exit out of the start menu. You should see a “saving” screen appear again for a few seconds. If Halo Waypoint does not update within 30 minutes, do it again.

While what Vektor said applies usually, this isn’t the case for you. You’re problem is…

NO HARD DRIVE! Yup, it’s a pretty major problem. The fix is expensive, but it does have benefits. For example, you can now download many more games than before! Also, you can look at the File Share and download and upload files to and from it! Aaand, you can use the Theater!

So get in the loop with a hard drive. It’s the fix you’ve always been waiting for!

Wait, how would not having a hard drive have any bearing on why his Spartan isn’t updating on Waypoint?

When you change your armor in Halo 4, it caches it on the hard drive. The website uses the cache to determine what the model looks like. Without a hard drive, this caching doesn’t occur. Until the cache is updated, the Spartan will appear as a red Recruit.

That’s a shame then. With most of my future gaming plans on the xbox one, I don’t think that I will ever be getting an xbox 360 hard drive. Sort of sucks, doesn’t it?

Hi L3g3ndarY NovA,

Halo 4 uses the hard drive to cache and store the altered image and save that image to our services used by Waypoint to display the update. Unfortunately without a hard drive, this update process does not occur.
