Weither its system link, or over xbox live my buddys and i can not get a lobby started.
there were some issues for me and my friends too, maybe something with the servers
go to multiplayer/xboxlive ingame
then select private game
then go to an empty ai/player slot and press “Y”
this will open the 360 menu and send the invite from there.
remember accepting invites in the x1 menu does not work.
to accept the invite your buddy that recieves it must press “start” and “select” at the same time when he recieves it (the 2 black buttons next to your xbhome button). this willl open the 360 menu and you can accept the invite from there. then it is just waiting for them to join.
note, it might take a few matches against ai or eachother before halowars pcks up any online players. it took me 4 matches till my hw said there were players online whereas it took ym friend only 2.
I haven’t had any problems …
