It Looks Like The Spartans Being Attacked by the brute Are The 3 members of red team.
The Brute may be Macebeus, Meaning it would have to be around the same time as Wars since not long this time Macebeus was killed by his nephew (Tartarus) who took his place as chieftain off the brutes. (Macabeus was Chieftain at the time, He is mentioned in Contact Harvest)
The ending off Halo Wars Everyone goes to sleep apart from the AI Serena.
Legendary Ending of Halo Wars serena Says “Captain wake up, something has happened”
Was this Macebeus raging havoc in Red Teams cryo bay?
Maccabaeus was killed during the fall of Harvest. Halo Wars takes place 5 years after that. We don’t know when Halo Wars 2 will take place, so Tartarus COULD fit the chronology. But why would he swap the Fist of Rukt for (what appears to be) an energy bladed mace?

I completely agree about it being Red Team because in the opening dialog you hear “Douglas is down.” And I could see it being Macebeus, but there’s also a chance that the setting could be near or even after the events of Halo 5. In an entry to Canon Fodder, 343 confirmed that there are still a handful of active Spartan II’s from the Halo Wars time line. They didn’t say weither or not that they are with the UNSC Infinity, or MIA, so there’s a chance.
it is red team even shows the armor identical to Douglas who is with red team, but the brute is the anonymous one. cant be maccabeus, and tartarus his own weapon was fist or rukt, unless the weapon is that just upgraded towards that. but what not much notice is that he says “hunt them down” that could mean he’s leading an elite brute squad tasked to hunt red team.

Absolutely true. However, in the latter half of the Halo Wars campaign and, in particular, in relation to the Spirit of Fire, I think Red Team does refer to those three specific Spartans.
Halo Wars 2 was said to be the continuation of Halo Wars, atleast to me that means the story continues like any other sequel. Could there be flashbacks? Sure, but I seriously doubt that the trailer is a flashback.
Leading on to the Brute with the assumption that Halo Wars 2 isn’t part pre-quel, that’s not Mac, and most likely not Tartarus either. The former is dead and the latter has the FoR, the chieftan weapon.
Those spartans are Halo Wars’ Red Team indeed.
Thing is though, we do not know the location of the trailer, could very well be they’re not on SoF at that point. Time is also unknown so Serina could also be dead or rampant.
In escalation we see SoF briefly, and we know what was on it.
Either HW2 leads up to that point, and we get HW3, or the story starts from there with a recap of what happened at the legendary ending.
I think a relatively logical hypothesis for who the Brute is is the character from the short story in Halo: Evolutions. The band mentioned has distanced from the Covenant and is considered some sort of AWOL. In the trailer is no mention of any other Covenant species, so this is possible.
Do I think what I said is likely? Not all that much. I think it is just a new character since 343 isn’t following the old Halo lore all that well. They are doing new, new, new rather than building upon previous stories.
According to the UNSC Infinity’s lore page here on Waypoint, it went on a search and rescue op for the Spirit of Fire in brute controlled space. Can’t be a coincidence that brutes are returning in the trailer.

“Red Team” didn’t make an “Appearance” considering that Team Omega IS part of Red Team…
