After playing the Halo Wars beta for the first & last time, I was really disappointed. The gameplay was very clunky and uneasy and the interface not smooth. Understandably it’s a beta but in my opinion HW1 was far superior in every aspect. It was more polished and the simplicity of the game itself was great and I had hoped HW2 would have built off of that. The combat was much more enjoyable and entertaining in the first, in HW2 its quite the opposite and hard to follow.
As someone who enjoys RTS games from popular series like Red Alert, LOTR: BME to Empire Earth, HW definitely broke new ground in its concept and style. However if the beta will be anything like the release version, I think it would be a HUGE BUST and I think previous HW players would agree. I will only reminisce the original HW and look forward to HW3 or a backwards compatible HW1.
Of course this is only just one persons opinion, I hope others can provide some constructive feedback as I really hope for Halo Wars success and resurgence. However at this rate I think the series is going towards its downfall. Does anyone agree or disagree? I’m curious to know if anyone else shares the same thoughts. Either way I hope the best & thanks you for the opportunity to play Halo Wars 2!
