Halo Wars Stats on Waypoint?

So why is there a nice stats page for Reach but not for Wars?

We have to go to 2 different websites for stats and forums?

Please, give us a stats page already.

Request: If you do your own stats page I’d love to see us be able to get at a lot more information that the old HWs site gave us.

Come on, more support.

I would like this too, but all the people who played this game for a long time got really pissed when they said they were gonna take the forums offline… also they said online stat tracking would be taken offline as well. people save links in this game to stat pages, so unless there is a guarantee that links will still work, A LOT of people will be pissed off about this. I would honestly rather just have it how it is so there is no chance of mess ups- ie: the last patch.

just save a link in your browser directly to your stats page on halowars.com and all u need to do to look up games and other peoples stats is go there…, i think the risk out-ways the benefits on this one.

Dont you see a problem with the fact that in order to know the information about a game you have to save the exact link?

And why couldnt they preserve the stats over there, or transfer them to a new system?

There needs to be a new system, the old one is terrible. You have no idea of:

Trueskill - That number in the top left of the current stats page means nothing.
Win Ratio Per Playlist (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, arranged and unarranged)
Amount of units you have killed
Win ratio per map

and much more…

it is not a great system but, if there is a chance of losing all old links, MANY people would not be for this… the TS in the top left is like an overall TS… you actually can see all units killed in a game and what units killed them, u just go to the squad column and then use the drop down menu and it shows you what that unit killed and what killed that unit.

a win ratio per playlist and map would be cool. and so would current trueskills. I don’t play reach so idk what the new stat system they have is, but this one is pretty solid… If they agreed to keep the old stat page running and preserve old links, only then would most people support this.

I know the top left number is somewhat of an average, but it doesnt mean anything. What if you only play 1 specific gametype, such as 1v1, or 1v1 deathmath only? The stat really means nothing.

And I have seen the amount of units killed by a type of unit in a game, I knew of that feature.

As for preserving the old games, its not like they are trying hard right now. If you dont save the game link before you 15 or so more games played, you lose the ‘stat page’ of it forever, but not the data. That alone shows me a little to zero effort which succeeds in preserving the data only. So if they have no problem preserving data, why cant they slap a new stat system on the data and present it in a more meaningful and interesting fashion?

they, can do that but a lot of top players at least make link libraries vs other top players… high level games and such… if they were to lose these due to this change, LOTS of people would be pissed off. i’m not saying your idea is bad, but preservation is key.

here is an example… just some of my recent games that i saved:

mostly high level players or funny games i would like to keep/remember or be able to use as proof of beating someone.

if people lost all their links like this, they would be pretty pissed off. they would have saved them for nothing…

Trust me, I agree entirely.

Having a better stats page is not worht losing the near 1000 years of game data. Not even close.

But, like they did with Halo: Reach, they simply take the raw data, and present it. When Waypoint put up their stats page for Halo: Reach, it contained all the games everyone had already played, not just the games from after the implementation of the stats page.

Now, you have a link saved, which is to a stats page, not data. So even if they preserved the data, your link would be lost, which I know you dont want. But, if they improved the stats system to include all your games (like Halo FPS’s), you could go back into your history and find a new link for that game, a link to a stats page with way better information than before.

Example: You could write down the date and time of the game in your links, and look through the new system by date to find that game. Presto, new link.

They should move them over and make them look and have the same data as it already has.

anyone who still plays this game competitively saves links…

+1

Halo Wars clearly doesn’t have the spotlight for waypoint, and given the recent debacle with wiping out TU4, I say don’t risk it.

But, to play devil’s advocate, if Waypoint really did care about Halo Wars it would probably want the stats to come over. But then again, if they really cared, they would probably be careful enough to not mess things up horribly.

lol. ive played this game competitively since the game came out (off and on of course) and I have never saved a link. maybe some peoples memories are just bad, that or they think other ppl actually care about who you beat.

I don’t see what the problem would be with duplicating information.

Then again I wouldn’t have thought an update for “movies” would have wiped out TU4 so what do I know
