Halo Wars Sequel Ideas

Frankly, this game deserves a sequel. I think most of us can agree with this and must accept that it’s somewhat too late for Halo Wars. (it’s been three years)

Now heres a quote from frankie when asked about a Halo Wars sequel: “There is definantly room for an expansion to the halo universe”.

Now, personaly i think halo is done with prequels and the Wars setting was at the begining of the war. So, let’s skip about 20 years into the future. Here’s what i think…

Prolouge
The UNSC Spirit of Fire has been crusing through space at light speed. Around 2543, they cross dozens of glassed colonies. At this point in time, serina has gone rampant. To counter this, let’s say serina made a fragment of herself to control the ship and crew. Serina dies, but the fragment lasts as long as it is needed. In April 2553,(one month after halo 3) the Spirit of Fire comes across Sigma Octanus IV. (In the book Halo: the fall of reach, In 2552 Keyes performed the keyes loop and hours later with a huge fleet, repels the covenant invasion of the planet. He says that the planet would be a navigational hazard for the next decade.) Assuming that there is a FTL drive in the wreckage, the crew fits it on and heads to reach, but it’s glassed. Thus the legendary ending of Halo Wars comes into play, where serina says, “Wake up Captain, something has happened”.
They now head towards earth fearing the worst.

Now, in order for halo fans to get into Halo wars 2, it needs to be introduced into a Halo Book in some way. The sequel for Halo: The Thursday War would be nice. (a middle section of the book can explain the spirit of fire’s adventure) BTW, Glasslands and Thursday War have resonant connections to Halo 4.

In terms of interest,(this may be a bad idea) let’s add in a different gameplay. In Halo Wars 2, you can play in RTS mode… or in First Person. Kind of like in anniversary where you could change from old graphics to new graphics, just not in game or that would be OP. Robot takes charge of making a RTS campaign and multiplayer, while 343 takes care of a FPS campaign and multiplayer. So people play both, heres an idea:
Achievement Unlocked
Campaign Complete: Legendary. 125G
Complete the RTS and FPS campaigns on legendary difficulty. (Unlocks normal and heroic if not earned)

OR

Gaming Diversity. 50G
Reach the rank of Captain in both the FPS and RTS playlists.

To get this idea out, let’-Yoink!- 343 where it hurts… twitter.
Tweet to Frank O’Conner, David Ellis, BS Angel, or any top 343 employee member about Halo Wars 2. Use the #Halo Wars 2 hashtag.
DISCLAIMER: OVER TWEETING IS A GREAT WAY TO GET IGNORED. TWEET A FEW TIMES A DAY, DON’T OVER DO IT.

Together WE CAN make a difference! If we succeed, expect Halo Wars 2 at gamestop after 2014. (because of Halo 2 Anniversary)

You lost me at fps. Halo Wars is the only rts game I know that works great on consoles (well besides pikmin), and it needs to stay that way.

> You lost me at fps. Halo Wars is the only rts game I know that works great on consoles (well besides pikmin), and it needs to stay that way.

I meant you could play both. if you don’t like fps, don’t play it. You just won’t get the achievments. It’s like this, you go into multiplayer and it tells you that there are two playlists, RTS or FPS, I don’t know if this is a bad idea or not.

I like fps too, but this would be like making two completely different games and combining them. It would just be time consuming for the developers.

Uprising 2: lead&destroy was an ok first person ‘rts’. although it was more like an rpg as well.

that would mean integrating 2 different game engines. Whilst kinda cool, it would be a complete waste of time and an un-necessarily headache for the dev’s. why would they do a combined FPS/RTS when we already have so many FPS games with the halo title? (Also multiple discs since xbox can’t go blue-ray in next gen but that’s not much of an issue, I got Lost Odyssey the other day that’s 4 discs.). Halo wars works because it is quite simple, halo wars 2 needs to be the same. Complex RTS’s just don’t work for the casual console gamer.

I personally just really want a halo wars 2. As for the having both RTS and FPS in one game, just look at Toy Soldiers. It combines both of these into it, although the FPS part would likely lack high graphics etc. because of the fact that it’s an RTS, so it can be done.

Actually, toy soldiers was tower defense. It is also a low budget game compared to Halo.

i hope the SoF returns in one of the upcoming halo games, 5 or 6, or in H4s legendary ending, that would be a nice cliffhangar

This. If there’s a Halo Wars 2, it’ll just give out the impression that Microsoft is totally milking the franchise. I hope there’re references to it, but not a sequel.

I would be happy with just a book, really flesh out the characters, or integrate the SoF’s fate into the new trillogy, if they make a sequel though I hope Robot does it, most of their developers were from Ensemble right?

They already are obviously milking the franchise. From the beginning of 2009 to the end of 2012, we will have five Halo games made in that time period. Not making a Halo Wars 2 would be ignoring a portion of the community. Now I know everyone has their own opinion on topics, but why come here just to say you don’t want one?

that won’t happen and shouldn’t happen. imagine the cheesy back story they’d have to come up with to fill plot holes with. not to mention the fact that the SoF is nowhere near the chief.

SoF is best left in a separate story line.

Actually guys, theres a game thats already putting that together in campaign. I’m sorry for saying this but, Black Ops 2 is giving you the option to play missions in “RTS Mode” instead of first person. Sorry for the reference again.

YOU BETTER HAVE A SOURCE FOR THAT INFORMATION THAT IS LEGITIMATE

I’ll have to take your word for it because I only managed to get 3 minutes into a video of some guy on MW3 talking about Black ops 2 before closing the window.

LMAO!!!

battlestaision parcfic is rts and fps kinda the graphics are good on that they dont have to see the units to control them u could bring up a map and then tell them where to go and the maps will have to be huge like forge world but every may also they havent properly milked halo yet they could make a new odst with online like battlefield

They can barely put together a fps game. Now they are trying to put two different genres into one game? That is funny.
