Atriox is done, there is no way he can fight against Infinity and Spirit of Fire. As I compare the endings of Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2, I notice that one ends with Infinity going to slip space (Destination unknown) and the other is a Halo ring going to slip space and appearing in the Milky Way galaxy that’s under Promethean threat. Also with Halo Wars 2 it discredits the Comics to an extent; which means we could potentially see more writers freedom to shape the story and lore of the games with out the constraints of books and comics.
The Infinity had to slip out to the outside of the galaxy because the Guardians are constrained to the galaxy as their soul purpose is to police the galaxy not to go out of the galaxy. The best place for Infinity to go would be to the Ark as it is the most secured place (at least the best place outside of the galaxy that they know of).
Why Halo Wars 2 discredits the comics is due the time frame from the comics compared to the happenings of Halo Wars 2 and Infinity does not line up with the happenings in the comics. This is not a bad thing because not everyone can afford to buy 12 books, the entire comic series just to understand the games. With the demand of the books and the comics it’s like we are going to college or university just to understand and keep up with the series. The only thing that bugs me is that after all this reading we don’t get credits for this amount of work and reading, we should have a certificate for intro to Sci Fi literature by the time we finish reading. With Halo Wars 2 we are free from the need to read countless books and now we can look forward to better video game stories!
The link is the timing of Infinity zipping out into the unknown and the events of Halo Wars 2, plus the devs already revealed that Halo Wars 2 would be crucial and play into Halo 6. They are probably doing a Halo version of Episode 6 of Star Wars (Not looking forward to it Brian Reed, you know what I’m talking about).
