Basically combine the two games into one game and I don’t mean to just have them be separate modes in one game, but actually try to combine both gameplay mechanics. Thoughts? Maybe some ideas?
Perhaps you can play rts style, and switch between FPS and rts
It would be fun to have a 5 player game mode where one player has a top-down view of a battlefield (Halo Wars RTS) and places Covenant soldiers in the game to prevent a fireteam of four players (FPS) from reaching an objective.
Sounds crazy ambitious, would be hard to pull off successfully, I like it.

That idea reminds me of those Halo - Arma videos on YouTube (which I watch but don’t understand at all.
)
I think it’s too ambitious, personally. Coming up with a satisfying means and ratio of mechanics to blend from each is a huge challenge.
Maybe if Gears Tactics works out, it might be worth another look.
I just don’t think such differing gameplay bases fit so well together, switching so drastically between gamemodes could put off some of the playerbase. Games already have restricting things into them such as the brand having earlier images and stigma to them in larger franchises, both good & bad, the singular gameplay type also is something that focuses on certain target audience.
Those are types of restrictions that come naturally and nothing really can be done with the latter while former could be affected with PR but not too drastically. So combining 2 vastly different gameplay styles could have an negative effect of even shrinking the target audience.
And I think something that has RTS parts in FPS game has been done before, I think 1 example could be in another major franchise, if I don’t misremember such has already been done in CoD BO2.
Not that different couldn’t have similar mechanics but I think such combination never really caught on.

Would be awesome - as a spin-off
