Halo wars had one feature all Halo Games should have.

Halo wars had one really cool feature that I was surprised to see didn’t make it into Halo Reach, I really hope it makes it into Halo 4 and maybe even CEA. That feature is of course the Time Line. It was a nice thing to look at and it would be a great way to summarize the series for newcomers or people who don’t read the books, and best of all it would allow us to see how things stand after more recent retcons. An example would be clearing up the dates that Halo Reach changed. On top of all that it was just a really nice tool to have at your hands.

well how about instead of an in-game one they had the timeline accesable on the waypoint app, that would be very cool

I hope they add in some sort of command to tell your marines to “wait” or “move up” or “Suppressing fire”.
Then maybe the ai would survive longer.
Any way yeah I do think it would be a cool addition maybe it will be in the title update for reach?

Like Rainbow six vegas 2?

Yeah kind of like that it would be more helpful than your ai just running off and dying or driving you off a cliff.

I can do without it, and i wouldn’t use it much if it was in.

And they would work like they do now if you don’ t utilize an extremely basic form of squad commands.

It’s not about making it a squad based shooter, it’s about using them to their advantage when you have them. There’s little point of me loading up my AI with awesome weapons if I can’t get them to survive with them.

God bless the Elites and their rushing into an enemy regardless of me giving them a Brute Shot, Fuel Rod or Rocket Launcher and providing the best Lee Roy moments I’ve seen yet (cause CoD isn’t about Lee Roy, it’s about not shooting the other AI 5 feet in front of them.)

A timeline on Waypoint would be nice if it was an actual feature and not just a bunch of articles thrown together, they would also have to update it often.

I liked how you could view all the cutscenes. Sure, the timeline is cool but who wants to play through the whole damn game just to watch one cutscene?

You’ve never had to play through the whole game to see a cutscene, you can just play that mission, or save the cutscene as a film clip in the newer games.

Timeline is basically located in the Waypoint, if you wish to know about the timeline, there is a lot of locations such as Halo Wikia and these forums, and Bungie’s, to help you to learn more about the story.

Would make it too much like other games.

No, this is what they should do.

Marines die too soon for the following reasons:

  1. fire too close to each other
  2. get/want to get too close to the enemy
  3. stumble from shots
  4. slow diving/evading
  5. vehicles, Hunters, Shade turrets

Marines need to be fixed in these categories.

In this video:

I have corrected #2.

Notice how the AR marine charges in and gets killed faster (the example of a classic CE marine) while my elite marines (Needler and Plasma Rifle) distance themselves from the Hunters, shoot more accurately and from a longer distance, lasting longer. I also show the unused dive from grenades ability that Hunters can use, improved Hunter armor, a functioning but op sword (turns out I was wrong about it having no collision. It doesn’t have the animation to enable the damage), and at the end of the video, I used a dev trainer to make short work of the Wraith.

This was on Normal btw.

Anyways, as for 3, 4, and 5…

Stumbling from shots can’t really be rectified without making it implausible.
Slow rolls? These are marines. They’re supposed to be fast! They should do slow rolls as they take damage.
They should crouch when Ghosts charge at them, keep their distance specifically from Wraiths, dive from Hunter fuel rod shots, and find cover when Shades are shooting at them.

I’d welcomes something like the Mass Effect Codex or GoW War Journal.

I also liked the time line feature.

the only thing i liked from halo wars was the graphics for the cutscenes

I’d like if that were included in game, or on the waypoint app.

I wouldn’t mind a timeline. Would be a nice addition.
