In one the deleted scenes omitted from Halo Wars, the Covenant finds a “titanic Forerunner weapon that lay dormant until the Covenant seized it for their ends”.
Seeing how the weapon was supposed to be on a Shield World. Maybe this concept was inspiration for the weapon that the Storm Covenant is searching for in Spartan Ops.
Source?
Because I don’t remember hear anything of what you are saying.
But is interesing.
If I find the article on the internet I’ll try to post a link. I believe I’ve seen it in the bowels of Halopedia’s Canceled Projects section.
If not, then it’s referenced in Halo: The Art of Building worlds on page.025.
The weapon you’re referring to from Halo Wars Apex Cutscene are Forerunner Dreadnoughts. The weapon in Halo 4 could be the Didact himself or something else that doesn’t involve the Dreadnoughts something entirely new that we haven’t heard about yet.

I don’t think so. This particular scene or level was cut from the final disc. Though, you could be right about the weapon being something else entirely. Anyway, I’m pretty sure that the Didact isn’t being used as a weapon. But who knows?
By the way, I can’t find the article. Looks like it’s only in the art book.
